Makar is becoming what Forsberg used to be in arguments.

"Well if he's healthy..." He's not.
It's an issue. Both are now entering their 3rd regular season. Makar has 109 games, Fox has 135 (Colorado has had 1 game less this season). There's a legit argument that Makar lost his Norris last year to Fox because of his injury (yeah come at me for saying this). This year Fox has taken another step AND continues to be healthy, while Makar is injured again.

Bowen Byram is a pretty good consolation for the Avs fans in this matter though.

Maybe if Adam Fox were a conspiracy theorist nut job that most of his teammates got sick of then he’d be booted off the team too!
Right, like, I don't know why we can't just accept that something happened behind scenes (which is hardly unprecedented) and the team decided to move on.

It's the same thing every day. The usual suspects bring up DeAngelo (in the Around the NHL Thread, ok I guess) and then those some people bring up his politics. When you're like "hey can we not do this again?" the response is "you hate him because of his politics that I brought up!!!!"

It's so exhausting. I thought political discussion was instant delete on here.

For the last time, people can post about Tony DeAngelo because it's hockey related and he's a former Ranger. If you post about telling people to stop talking about DeAngelo, you're actually the one wanting to get into a back and forth about DeAngelo.

Nobody said anything until somebody brought up politics for literally no reason. Yet again.

Gretchen Whitmer kidnapping plot: 3 men now face weapon of mass destruction charge - CNNPolitics

Adam Fox, 40, Barry Croft, 45, and Daniel Joseph Harris, 23, were charged with knowingly conspiring to use weapons of mass destruction, in addition to the federal kidnapping conspiracy charges that were announced in October, when officials thwarted an alleged plot by the men and several others to kidnap Whitmer, a Democrat.

Too late, he's gone off the deep end

i hate trump, hate maga types, but the whole tony thing was and is so stupid. like the kravtsov thing. moron management nuking the guy's value for no reason. both players obviously should've been gone a full calendar year before the drama-bomb.

also, can we all collectively LMAO at buff? :)

And Jacob trouba isn't

It's almost as if...politics doesn't mean shit in hockey
This. Tony wasn’t shipped out because he’s conservative, he was shipped out because he couldn’t have civil conversations with the coaching staff and his teammates about his views/feelings.

The fact that people try to pin it on his political leanings (As if Sather and company care what Liberal Twitter thinks) is simply self-serving venting about the public discourse surrounding their own political feelings.

Raspetin yeah you don't like the truth so that is the best you can come up with, brilliant

Yep you're right, very plausible a front office whose political views actually are aligned with ADA went and kicked him off the team because some twitter users "liked" anti-ADA posts.

You know who (and his family) is also a big Trumper? Here's a hint: The Rangers just gave him a seven year $66.5 million dollar contract extension.

its gonna be hilarious if we meet the Canes in the playoffs and TDA scores in OT of the 7th game to beat us.
Love to see True Blue and Edge defend that one

I don’t know if you’re referring to me there but I’ve just posted his highlights (and then a joke about the puck) and I’m glad he’s doing well after what transpired. It’s common to keep tabs on former Rangers in this thread, always has been. If you read through the thread I haven’t got in any arguments about him or politics, or even complained about us moving him. I’m more happy he is reviving his career than I’m upset that we lost him

No not you, but I implore you or anybody else to re-read the last two pages and take note of the two posters who brought up politics.

It's not "the anti-DenAgelo crowd" and it never f***ing is.

Nobody said anything until somebody brought up politics for literally no reason. Yet again.

it's rehashing the old but JD and Gorts did boot him because he was too much to handle, politics, twitter, and personality and all. Gorton himself even said that Tony needs to just shut up and focus on hockey, you're making millions, get off twitter etc. Officially, Gorton would only say it's his use of Twitter to discuss politics and yelling at people on twitter but we all know it's mostly his trump and conservative stuff garnering bad publicity.

I think while it's rehashing and bitching about losing Tony for those of us that like him, the politics of it is not off limits. We only ever criticize JD and Gorton for botching that situation and a good player with a good contract that would be helpful right now.

It's just getting tiring when some people are acting like he was "cancelled", or even more laughable, thrown out because the management sided with Georgiev over him. TDA had multiple strikes, and was finally ousted. I have no regret of letting go of him based on the things we know.

Does it suck when it seems he has now finally received the message and is tearing it for Carolina? Absolutely. Doesn't mean the Rangers shouldn't have bought him out.

Like I said, the real issue which still seems to persist with this organization regarding case Kravtsov, is the failure to gain assets for these players with attitude issues, before the shit hits the fan and the value tanks.

Now obviously, NHL is a small place and word gets around, but surely someone would've traded for TDA before the incident? Someone would've traded for Kravtsov with some value before he failed to report?

But that's not politics, that's behavior.

He could have done the same thing with hookers and cocaine.

Patrik Laine did it with Fortnite.

I don't see anybody posting "you guys just hate Fortnite!!!!" on the Jets board.

The only relevant conversation regarding DeAngelo and the Rangers at this point is that the team has been awful at assessing a player's character and when to hit the eject button on a situation gone wrong

It’s always conveniently ignored that he had teammates take him aside multiple times to tell him to shut the f*** up and he still couldn’t do it.

Once that buyout went through I literally could not have cared less about him.

I can’t see the posts of the people that love to bring him up religiously so I get by pretty easily on here ;)

And were you part of the cancel TDA team? Im not accusing you, i am genuinely curious
I just don't give a f***.

If people want to talk about him in this thread, they have the right to. It's frustrating that it always becomes a political discussion. Nobody challenged it until it became a political discussion.

And I'm sorry but that's not "both sides!!!" It's the same 3-4 ADA fanboys that bring up politics.

I think both sides react harshly to each other. This time it was the Pro-Tony side that started complaining about us mismanaging him, the night of the Gordie Howe hat trick it was the Anti-Tony side who started complaining saying we shouldn’t even be posting anything he does like he’s Voldemort or something. Any honest person will say he’s a good player but a divisive character. Many people love him because of his politics, many people hate him because of his politics. I’m not saying that’s why our organization moved on from him, but that is certainly why folks on social media despise him. They don’t despise him because he’s a dick, there are TONS of dicks in professional sports who have done far worse than Tony. They hate him because he’s a dick & they hate his political views.

I think it should be pretty easy to just post highlights and talk about on ice play without getting into arguments about this. If me (one of the most ardent Tony fans) can do it, anyone should be able to.
