The only thing people should be upset about with Deangelo is the fact that he was bought out here. We would not have been able to afford him long term regardless of his “antics”.

But, as is becoming far too common with this team, they managed to mishandle the asset so egregiously that they literally got a negative return on a RHD that is probably going to score at a 0.75PPG pace this season.

It wasn’t going to happen with the Rangers no matter what. But now we get to sit here with a cap penalty instead of some sort of future asset to look forward to.

I think the only option to keep DeAngelo was if they had traded Trouba eventually.

He's the absolute worst. He makes my ears bleed. Today, when the game was literally 20 seconds old, he said the Isles were off to a good start. He couldn't even wait a few minutes before making an ass out of himself.
