This entire thing stinks to high hell. Systematic failure at all levels.

The teammates, the franchise brass, even the beat reporters and everyone close to the team. They all knew what happened or had an idea. No one had the guts to stand up and say anything. The league and the culture built around this league is to blame as well. I don't want to generalize it too much, but there is a lot of this garbage going on at all levels, let's not be naive.

Maybe not always to the extremes that this this story follows, but running the gamut of lesser degrees with name calling and singling out "weaker" minded or "different" kids. It happens everywhere in our society but it really bothers me how people will donate to anti-bullying charities, wear anti-bullying and inclusive tshirts and act like they give a shit but when push comes to shove all people care about are themselves.

I am not proud to be an NHL fan right now. And honestly something like this could have easily happened inside any other locker room, including the Rangers because this league is run by a number of archaic, rich assholes

The reason no one wanted to admit the truth and preferred this route of law firm investigations and firings is this goes all the way to the top and around and around. Bettman, Fehr, USA hockey, the fake chicago doctor, the NHLPA psychiatrist, Bowman, Quenneville, McDonough, ownership, Toews and it all ended up with a 16 year old boy being groomed and raped by a sexual predator. Give an inch give a mile. It's easier to just do it this way. People get mad, people resign, vow to change. This was almost easier for the league than admitting everything. Without Rick Westhead, we wouldn't even have this much. This was the plan all along. Likely the bottom 25% of outcomes Bettman had expected given the amount of damning reports by Westhead.

Our old pal Zuccarello has tested positive for covid, 10 day isolation at least..

He's had a Great start to the season too..

Katie Strang had a lot to do with uncovering this too.

……and FWIW there is also the anonymous (for now anyway) Black Ace 1 who was also being chased by Aldrich around the same time as Beach and had these rumors following him for years and was the one who in 2014 was threatened and taunted in an NHL game by a former Blackhawks player.

The Blackhawks organization acted despicably and the ramifications for this have been long overdue.

People should understand that for Beach this was a very traumatic experience and that he’s carried this around for 11 years and it did help to kibosh any kind of NHL career and an 11th overall draft pick kind of power forward does not have just run of the mill expectations.

no hes not. offensively clearly better. trouba is better defensively and every coach in hockey would match trouba up against top players over deangelo. deangelo if he cudnt play LD wud be getting lundkvists minutes here.

He could win the scoring race for dmen and the leading scorer on probably the best team in hockey and you still wouldn't be able to post about it.

Are you drinking man? This is the around the NHL thread lmao. It’s full of just highlights because we’re watching every Ranger game. Why would I post highlights of Fox when everyone watched the game? :laugh: Me posting clips of a notable achievement (Gordie Howe Hat trick) is in no way taking anything away from Fox
