He’ll make more money with an almost 0% chance of injury from his profession. Also he’ll be able to do it in his home country and will be able to continue his career well past 35.

Being a professional athlete isn’t for everyone. And it certainly isn’t a dream job. Anyone who thinks that has not been apart of the process of being a pro athlete.

He'll make more money most likely if he's very successful. I assume not everyone with Tik Tok account makes a ton of money.

You’d be surprised. I hate this era of social media. I can’t tell you how many players I had to take their phone until we finished our session. It’s a horrible addiction that is widely accepted in our society.

Watching NJ and WSH. Devils have some very skilled young talent. Very sloppy and almost no structure but they have some good pieces in the mix. Wonder if they find themselves in a similar situation to us in a year or two: loaded with skill guys with no one to watch their backs.

Hope they ice a similar roster against us on Friday. It will be a track meet, good test for our D to stay structured and not take the bait.

Washington’s d was a joke considering they dressed their regulars. Breakaways and 2 on 1s left and right. Hopefully that carries into opening night

Yeah, Caps are a bad team with a handful of clutch players who can elevate and score big goals to keep them competitive.

With that Ovie contract, its basically all about beating Gretzky at this point which i'm sure is gonna age real well. If he misses any significant time this season, that race is basically over before it began.

Not seeing a lot different with TNT than NBC honestly...

Especially with the same voices (K Albert, Jonesy and Eddie-O).

The graphics are TNT but otherwise... lather, rinse, repeat.

Maybe they'll try some new stuff in the reg season.

This really feels like the year of their decline though. Malkin missing serious time, Crosby missing time. Their goaltending is not very good. Defense is vastly overrated. On top of that the teams behind them improved in the offseason. They might not miss, but this is not a division winning team and I think is more of a wildcard team at best.

I mean, we expect the Rangers, Devils, Flyers, and Islanders to be better teams. Washington is more stagnant and Carolina could go either way with losing Hamilton but they have improvements to their roster in other areas and youth getting better. Columbus is rebuilding.

I believe you can put bets on teams to miss the postseason. This is the first year I could see doing that. Washington I think has a chance to stick and contend longer since they have two solid goalies.

time for a Penguin lottery win

If you haven’t heard, there’s a terrific series on Amazon prime that just premiered called “All or Nothing” about the Maple Leafs 2020-21 season. I just watched the first hour and it was great. Lots of locker room language. A great look at Dubas and Keene managing the team. Similar to the first couple of roads to the Winter Classic.

So we are just assuming that he’s going to be wildly successful? I know a guy who gave up a 6 figure job who lived really well to be an influencer. He traveled and had thousands of followers for awhile...now he lives in a studio apartment in a lousy neighborhood just scraping by. I wish the kid the best, but cmon...

He’s young good looking and stupid. He’s most definitely going to be successful.

The Sabres aren't going to terminate his contract. They're going to want major return for their asset. If he's healthy, plenty of teams would want to make a deal. The Sabres' demands, long believed to be at least four pieces and perhaps more, are just too much right now for an injured player. Eichel can take the step he needs to get cleared medically and then get a new address.

"What they're asking for is insane," a Western Conference source told me of the Sabres' trade demands earlier this week. "I get that they're trading Eichel, but what do they really expect if you don't know if he can play?"

Mike Harrington: Jack Eichel should assume some risk and go have his surgery

Yzerman is looking to move Bertuzzi. Nobody wants this headache. It's hard enough to run a team without this issue hanging over the team's head.

It would be incorrect to suggest that Detroit Red Wings GM Steve Yzerman was shopping forward Tyler Bertuzzi. However, a rival NHL GM did confirm that Yzerman is calling teams. The Detroit GM isn’t offering them Bertuzzi. He’s just subtly gauging what interest there might be from them in acquiring Bertuzzi.

Bertuzzi is the only Detroit Red Wings player who has opted not to get the COVID-19 vaccination. That means he’ll be missing from the club’s lineup for all nine of their games in Canada, since he won’t be able to cross the border.
