Wtf happened between Lehner and Vignault? Pretty intense to see a player on a different team call for a coach to be fired publicly.

he sounds like he’s about to go scorched earth on a bunch of teams.

Buffalo has already gotten it a bit. Wouldnt be surprised if some of Lou’s dirty laundry gets aired out.

There’s got to be a huge back story here.
Stay tuned.

Seems like he's referring to Patrick, but Lias also comes to mind. He openly said he was taking sleep aid and that was affecting his game. Timeliness don't sync perfectly, but if it's as common as Lehner is implying who knows I guess.

Yowie Wowie.

I hope Lehner gets as much as he can out there before Vegas and/or the NHL offices tell him to cut the shit, or else.

It's nothing new that the locker room culture in the NHL is nothing short of toxic, but peddling benzos without the supervision of or some kind of medical sign off is highly illegal.

Can Lehner stop talking and just stop the puck? You can see why Lou didn't offer him a contract after Lehner's excellent season a few years ago. The Hawks gave him a one year contract. Then the Hawks traded him to Vegas. Before Vegas traded MAF, they talked to the Devils about Lehner.

There's a time and a place for this kind of thing, and I don't agree that Twitter is the place to air out the dirty laundry. But if what he's suggesting about Vigneault has any truth to it, I'm finding it very hard to disagree with Lehner. AV will be lucky if the worst that happens to him is losing his job.

No he shouldn't.

The type of shit he's talking about SHOULD be exposed.

Avery touched on this sort of drug use in his book and how normalized it actually is in the league. I'm sure it's not just AV, any of these old time Hockey guys could be guilty of this behavior.

I’m sorry, he’s a grown ass man. Were they forced down his throat? Was he threatened?

everyone is a victim nowadays. No one is accountable for their actions.

it’s bad. I’m not arguing it or condoning the behavior. Airing it out on Twitter is meh. I guess it’s the age we live in

I was thinking the same thing.
Like they’re literally the ones who run out and bandage up players, try to diagnose what the injury is, whether they’re fit to go back and play etc. if I never heard this Lehner thing I would have already assumed that they give medication to players.

I don’t want to just dismiss him but Lehner does have a tendency to sensationalize things

These guys have no idea what they’re taking though.

Not everyone is going to do copious amounts of research on their own. If you feel like ass and someone says “take this, you’ll feel better” you’re usually going to take said thing to feel better.

Patrick is a young kid who probably figured they were looking out for his best interest. Pretty disgusting from the flyers if true since this is a guy who was dealing with a head issue and not something like a sore shoulder.

That’s my point. Ignorance shouldn’t be an excuse.

If his trainer was giving him pills to get stronger, then he gets busted for PEDs…. Whose fault is it?

the issue here is if they are illegally handing out controlled substances.. which I doubt

Not the same thing. Theres a pretty big difference between taking a drug that is going to help you perform better and being given substances which you're being told are going to stop your head from feeling like there are thousands of razor blades grinding on the inside of your skull. Heres the thing though, these trainers SHOULD know better. They do, they just don't care.

I agree that there should be better education of the athletes, but the fault doesn't really lie with them, especially young ones who haven't been around long enough.

If I am George McPhee or Kelly McCrimmon, I am calling Lehner's agent and asking him to tell his client to shut his mouth or I am going to do it. It won't be nice. Lehner will be complaining about me in the next podcast. We aren't paying him $5M per to talk about other teams. Shut up and stop the puck.

This isn't like the KHL and Russian gas where you get hurt and a mysterious needle ends up in your cheek.
