I think accusations should be taken seriously but with the NHL's findings, this is making me question the 2nd set of accusations. Like is she making shit up just to hurt him?

It's possible she misconstrued his gambling happenings for game betting, or it's possible she "misconstrued" it. It's possible she's just trying to say anything to continue making him a distraction to hurt his career. As with most hearsay things, the answer usually lies in the middle.

One thing that caught my eye was from a blurb regarding the restraining order he obtained against his wife that said she was "wildly swinging their daughter around" during an argument. One way I would interpret that: The wife may have been holding their daughter while Kane was standing over/around/near them during that argument - maybe surrounding who should be taking care of her - and maybe the wife was twisting and gyrating to get the daughter away from Kane so he couldn't physically touch her. Then it evolves to "the wife was WILDLY swinging the baby around" once they're all in court, to make it sound as if she was holding the baby by the foot and spinning her in the air like a towel in an attempt to paint the wife in a worse light. Kane's statement calling his wife "mentally unwell" is a weird and sleazy look in my book. Sure, speak out against allegations to put your own word out there and defend yourself. But then in the same breath, to try to paint the other person as having mental illness/being mentally unstable/whatever just makes you look desperate to find some "easy" way to make the other person less believable or credible. It's like the new age version of "Women are just crazy."

At the end of the day, none of us are going to know exactly what happened/is happening and we're just going to be getting info from these fluffed up public statements from both sides that make one person sound like the victim and the other the aggressor. The one suffering the most is the daughter who is unfortunately at the whim of everyone else who seems to just want to "win" this.

w/o a salary cap he’d be a Ranger today. Broken record here - Who can take on that $10 million with a neck injury?

Technically the Rangers have tons of cap space, but really just for this season. If they ship Strome in a package to Buffalo or elsewhere then they would be well under the cap for this season. But that may mean losing Zibanejad or having to trade a guy like Kreider to be able to keep Eichel and Zibanejad together long term after this season. I still think the Rangers are the front runner for Eichel, all this cap space that they have available before the season cannot be a coincdence. They probably made the Sabres a final offer, got rejected, and then told Buffalo that the offer stands for the forseeable future if they want to revisit.

yeah, so they don’t have the space. Not sure who else would take on the risk.

Going to need some help here with the game times being converted to EST. It's a ways out, but US and Canada play on February 12? I'm not sure if that is 12:10 AM EST or not, but that would be a very interesting night to say the least if that is the real time. That is also Super Bowl weekend. Would be one hell of a way to kick that off.

For a chance to get a player like Eichel, you almost want to get him now and worry about the cap later. If you build a winning team perhaps players will want to stay and take a discount to keep the team together. You think players in Buffalo would take a discount right now to remain a Sabre?

Are my eyes tricking me, or is that an NHL-sized rink?

What's the end game here?

The Sabres are essentially de-valuing their #1 asset.

Are they hoping that he decides to have the procedure/rehab they want him to have and continue to play for the Sabres? Making that more difficult now by stripping him of his captaincy...

He doesn't want to play there and he has been adamant about not wanting to follow the health plan the Sabres are suggesting.

What a mess.

Why wait until the start of camp? Why not do this 2 months ago and let that news settle so it's not the #1 topic in camp?

Maybe he thought Eichel was in better shape. Hoping he would be ok with rest? That was their plan for him. Who knows.

This whole thing is nightmare and honestly the negativity surrounding him and the situation will probably follow him for the rest of his career.

Stay far, far away.

He was obviously trying to hoodwink someone into trading for him at full price and letting someone else deal with the neck issue.

It's semi slimy, but no one was going to fall for it.

Camp is here, nothing has changed. At least the Sabres morons can stop with the "his neck is fine and Jack is playing it up" conspiracy theories.
