Watching the San Diego Gulls game last night, and there is Lias Andersson, on the Reign. It’s crazy that he cannot even crack the Kings line up. Wasn’t the Rangers organization that was the issue apparently.

I don't want to 'defend' Andersson as he won't be more than a dime-a-dozen player, but he's going along at PPG pace in the AHL in his D+4 season, and that's basically after missing a year of hockey (his fault). He's probably a year behind where you'd like to be. Will be interesting to see whether he can stick on the Kings team (who, although pretty crap have won a whopping 4 games less than us...) next season, especially if they give up other young assets for Eichel.

I was reminded in another thread of Mark Stone's debut against the Rangers. Am I remembering correctly or was he a bad skater? So I assume he improved that part of the game? Maybe it bodes well for Kakko and Laf.

Here's that game.

Stone's assist starts around 14:40.

He wasn't the greatest skater at that age, definitely worked on his game. That guy is a beauty though. He's built different. Few outwork him.

doesn't sound right to me ... imo, one of the most talented goalies of his era ... :dunno:
Yeah, for his size, and yeah he lived up to his name. BUT, seems he had a very short span of excellence. Unfortunately it was during those golden years for the Kings and of course we have to face them. Again, we would have beaten Chicago, not to mention it would have been MUCH MORE entertaining.

Seems more often than not, that when we DON'T play, there isnt a game that we are really interested in. The scheduling sucks. Seems all one time zone on any given night. Or, is it my imagination? Anyone else feel that way?

Vegas looking like they’re going to be a tough out. It’s pretty surprising to me that Fleury is not only still in the league but is doing quite well. Good for him I guess

Anthony Stolarz has been very good for Anaheim, with Gibson playing through an injury and been in and out of the line up. I know the Flyers didn’t want him for some reason.

Nah f*** him lol.

But , i'd be interested to see if Vegas can beat Colorado in the playoffs. The Hockey meta is Centers >>>> everything, and they are strong on the wings and on D, and their center depth is dookie sauce on paper.

I think it might influence how the Rangers approach the offseason. If Vegas wins, they won't got after Eichel. If they get merk'd by Colorado or someone else with high end centers, Rangers going all in on Jack

I mean, I don't watch the Giants (except for the sweet sweet Voldemort defeats), but was Eli always as bad as he was the last couple of ... three/four years?

His image is surely tarnished by those last couple of seasons.

(yes, every thread is every thread)

No.

Eli in his prime was a legit quarterback that didn't have the weapons to prop up his numbers. He was a gamer and a leader. He was never a top 3 QB but spent many seasons of his career in that 5-10 range statistically, despite having mediocre offensive talent around him.

The last 3 years of his career, they surrounded him with some talent (OBJ, Saquon, going out and spending on Marshall, who didn't work out here) but his game fell off a cliff. 2016 he had a pretty good year on an 11-5 team but 2017, 2018, 2019, he was cooked.

His legacy is not tarnished, people like to dunk on him on social media and conveniently forget how good he was from 2007-2013.

lol maybe he didn't have Megatron or Fitzgerald but he always had great wideouts, especially during those super bowl years, and great linemen (especially during that first run). Cruz and Nicks were an elite 1-2 and had some really nice 3rd options with Smith and Manningham.

Not related here, but Eli Manning is one of the most overrated QBs of all time. His numbers are horrid. Yes, that doesn’t take away from his Super Bowls.

Lol
