I'm not into conspiracy theories, but Bettman seemed a little too happy that Tampa Bay won the Cup. Also, he didn't acknowledge the run that Montreal went on to get to that point.

If you thought Bettman was this happy with a TBL win, he'd have to change his undies if the Islanders won considering he was a fan growing up and his personal project was to keep them in the NY market.

And if Pittsburgh won, him and Pierre would be on a bender.

I'm no fan of Tampa, but they are deserving winners. They have built pretty much the perfect team, and thwarted the Isles x2 and Montreal x1 . They're alright in my book even if they have spoiled smug fans and a few dickhead players.

let’s learn something

when Tampa set a record for points in a season and were swept/embarrassed by Columbus they

DID NOT FIRE THE COACH and GM and CLEAN HOUSE.

they retooled and won back to back Championships.

Considering it's a copycat league, Tampa winning is better for the league than Montreal winning, AINEC

yes!!

shows you need a team which can play all styles. And Tampa closed out both the Isles and Habs by beating them at their own defensive game by 1-0 scores.

Maybe some defensive teams will look at the Rangers and say, “we could use some offense” and we both are better off

What about the Habs winning would have an effect on anything? They’re a Canadian team with 24 Cups. Maybe their fan base would increase in numbers from 1,000,000,000 to 1,000,000,001?

My wife told me how happy she is that hockey is finally over.

When I told her about the upcoming Expansion Draft, Entry Draft, Free Agency, and trades she just looked so defeated lol.

I add Tampa to my list of Non-Ranger teams that I’m curious about going into the off-season. They have a lot of decisions to make. It’ll be curious to see who goes, who stays, who they let walk, and who they can keep. We’ve seen cup winner in the past have to trade important role players to stay cap compliant.

No, I mean like...because it's a copycat league, I'd rather teams try and copy/become more like the Bolts rather than that sad excuse for a roster the Habs have.

I'm so glad Tampa not only beat Montreal but gave them the over-the-knee spanking they deserved.

I would be more into teams getting on crazy runs if people just admitted that's what it is.

Instead I'm listening to Habs fans (and other Canadians) crow about how special their team is. Good for Kucherov for calling them out!

And there's nothing wrong with saying it! Liverpool weren't a top 4 team in their own country in 2005; that doesn't mean we enjoy the European Championship any less because we admit that. Ditto for the Giants winning Superbowl 46. Actually, I think there's even more romance to it when you acknowledge that it was f***ing nuts and doesn't f***ing happen again if you play it over 999 times. Wow, 1/1000 and you were there buddy!

Except you weren't there because Tampa Bay broke a f***ing Budweiser bottle over your heads.

Haha it's like a total of nine hours between the draft and time spent on Expansion/UFA surfing. Next time she's really into something tell her how happy you are it's finally over.

Kucherov could be a wrestler. That was a great heel promo.

Needed to start off with "Let me tell you something Pierre..."

Honestly what he said was so inoffensive. The worst that happens is he gets boo'd every time he touches the puck in Montreal for the rest of his career.

He was very limited in his movements with the broken ribs, so he could be a WWF main eventer because that promotion doesn't let main eventers do much.
