Needed to start off with "Let me tell you something Pierre..."

Honestly what he said was so inoffensive. The worst that happens is he gets boo'd every time he touches the puck in Montreal for the rest of his career.

He was very limited in his movements with the broken ribs, so he could be a WWF main eventer because that promotion doesn't let main eventers do much.
I always say, when it comes down to it, this is an entertainment product. It's a tv show. A little villainy is good.

Doughty talked shit after 2014 and while I think Doughty is a chubby frat chud with two braincells, I don't have visceral feelings about it and I don't wish him harm in his personal life. And the main boards would be less entertaining without him!

There's only one player I legitimately hate. The one that tries to harm players to the point where their personal lives will be effected.

Kucherov just signed a sponsorship deal with bud light lmao.

he shat on the habs shirtless and is being rewarded for it
Pretty sure Tampa already had one. There were cans turned with the name perfectly to the camera at every step of their celebration and press conferences and McD posted to Instagram about them.

People forget this. This is f***ing entertainment. It’s supposed to be fun.

Sure, winning is fun for the fans of the winning team, but “winning” is a weird thing to care about as a fan of something if it’s not coupled with entertainment.

This is why I’m a Ranger fan. I grew up in NJ in the 90s. My first game was a Devils game at Brendan Byrne arena. Watching Stephane Richer play the trap in a swamp didn’t hold a candle to watching Alex Kovalev dipsy doodle on Broadway.

So I regret aligning myself with the less successful franchise? Nope. It was the right decision.

Absolute legend. Every single cup finalist* team since 1980 has had one of Jagrs teammates on it.

can we find one of his ex-teammates and roster him for luck?

I'm so glad Tampa not only beat Montreal but gave them the over-the-knee spanking they deserved.

I would be more into teams getting on crazy runs if people just admitted that's what it is.

Instead I'm listening to Habs fans (and other Canadians) crow about how special their team is. Good for Kucherov for calling them out!

And there's nothing wrong with saying it! Liverpool weren't a top 4 team in their own country in 2005; that doesn't mean we enjoy the European Championship any less because we admit that. Ditto for the Giants winning Superbowl 46. Actually, I think there's even more romance to it when you acknowledge that it was f***ing nuts and doesn't f***ing happen again if you play it over 999 times. Wow, 1/1000 and you were there buddy!

Except you weren't there because Tampa Bay broke a f***ing Budweiser bottle over your heads.

I agree with most of this, but Suzuki and Caufield look like the real deal

It wasn't even villainy though. Villainy is what Dave Brown did to Tomas Sandstrom in 1987. Villainy is what Dale Hunter did to Pierre Turgeon in 1993.

Bruce Bourdreau talking trash about the Garden in 2011 was more of a heel move than what Kucherov did.

It was so minor.

Owners care about 50/50 revenue split regardless of how they get it, Bettman works for the owners.

Flaunting being over the Cap has to piss off Bettman

Something you learn over the years is that the best players, the real winners, have attributes that are effective on the ice but not always perfect off the ice.. :)

Anyone saw Kuch going after MTL fans? He would get banned at hfboards pretty fast.

That's Gold.

I do not care that a team has worked the system to their favor. I will care if the league does nothing to address the loophole/imbalance...

Lets not kid ourselves, salt levels would rise considerably if this was done against us in the future.

Or, maybe, just maybe, we get Eichel for scraps and only run him out in the playoffs.

No doubt about that, but he should have done something about it after Chicago did it. Tampa just playing by the rules that everyone agreed to.
I though I read a tweet saying Tampa and St.Louis were the only teams that wanted to close that loophole after Chicago. Everyone else was against it, so nothing was done. Are more teams interested now?

Yes, they were against it, and I can't imagine that more teams won't be more interested now.
