Around the 1 minute mark, Chiarot does a very similar move the back of Kuch's head that Wilson did to Buch. Didn't see any outrage about it. Huh. Strange. Huh.

You want cap relief? Just fake an injury.

I admit that you've lost me.
Are you saying that if Zib breaks both his legs in December the Rangers have to play the rest of the season without a top player, or a chance of a replacement, because of his forecasted cap hit,
or
That there's no incentive for Zib to rehab in a timely fashion because even if he gets healed and fit he can't play in the playoffs because the Rangers went out and got someone at the same rate as his cap hit?

Both of them seem harsh, (and also like a good way to get a goon or two to do a hit job on a star player...)

Really happy the lightning won. They didn’t get to celebrate with the fans last year and let’s face it- McD deserves it. Really wish he won it with us back in 2014, but he’s always going to be a favorite of mine, regardless of where he plays.

congrats to McD on another great playoff run and to the Lightning organization for putting together such a monster of a team that prevented the islanders from advancing :-)

Unfortunately in my personal record book, the Lightning did not win back to back cups.

The first they won in a bubble, and this one was won in a pandemic shortened season 20 million over the cap

McDonagh however has two cups. But that’s it lol

Wonder when the schedule comes out for next season. Should be soon?

From the season ticket holder thread:

Before the Cup Final, Bettman met with the media and said there will be two schedules, one with Olympics and one without Olympics. Season will open mid-October. The speculation is October 12th is opening night for the league.

It should come out within the next few weeks. It's usually right after the draft ends, but with there being a two week lull potentially between the draft and the end of the season (hopefully tonight), I could see it happening sooner.

This was reported on that day:

I would think they would want to have it out before the expansion draft or the very next day, maybe let Seattle announce their opener at the expansion draft since it is a big event for a new team and the league.

Eh. They’re real wins. Doesn’t matter if the seasons were shortened. Every team played under the same rules.

Agreed -

You can make the argument that the 95 Devils and 2013 Blackhawks are also not legitimate, which I think they very much are, in my opinion. I actually think Tampa Bay should be lauded for winning back to back under the strange circumstances.
