Tampa can continue to circumvent the cap for all I care if it means breaking the hearts of Piles fans all over again next year. Could've been watching Matt Martin lift the f***ing cup right now

By the time the Rangers are competitive again the loophole will be long closed and the Islanders will be back to doing what they do best - sucking ass.

The complaining about this is dumb because EVERYONE CAN DO IT.

This isn't a privilege exclusive to Tampa.

Do NHL talking heads get paid by the amount of times they praise #toffness? You'd think these were the 95 Devils. They're a hybrid of toughness and skill more than they were before but they're still a skill team. I'm really sick of these "tough guy" analysts pretending like skill doesn't exist.

For the 'salary cap in the playoffs' crowd, is it an extension of the regular season cap, or does it reset once the playoffs start?

The key is skill guys who play toff.

Hockey has always been a tough sport with skill and always will be. The NHL has never been as finesse as Europe nor will it ever be (and visa versa). It’s not figure skating nor is the very mention of toughness mean the goons of the 70’s despite this delusion some share.

Toughness is battling and every sport including hockey, football, rugby, etc are ALL EASY to play when healthy. The toughness comes when you have to play hurt and every player on that ice had an injury. That’s the toughness being spoken about. Those watching game as if these are the European ice capades have never understood it. Nobody claims skill doesn’t exist despite some in audience not understanding.

cheers

Not sure why you thought it was a stupid question.
It seems harsh to me that someone injured 4 weeks out from the playoffs would be forced to miss after playing 3/4 of a season, that's why I asked
You want cap relief? Just fake an injury.

We're gonna be really good because the core talent is there. Tampa augmented their team multiple times before they found the right mix but the talent was always there.

To be able to exploit the loophole, you first have to be in a position to benefit from it. Just saying.

Still cheaters tho)
