And to your points, circling back to the original question, no I don't think Miller does what he's doing in Vancouver if he's still here. I'll even venture he doesn't do it in Tampa either.

I think two trades in 15 months served as a wakeup call for him, but I also think the changes to his game are fairly modest and probably owe more to what Vancouver has in place than any great progress Miller himself has made.

You could be right & maybe it's a combination of the two. However, that trade still sucked for us the day it was made & now looking back in hindsight 3 years later.

I agree with you. It may have been lost in the wording, but I agree that his recent surge into bigger totals is a result of a perfect fit. Reverting to a 20 goal 50 player is still preferable to reverting to a 35 point player, but I also agree that Strome and Miller both lend themselves to creating the same type of headaches. Though I still think Miller would have a longer leash with fans here because “homegrown” and “jam”.

I think that’s really hard to say.

I just keep the same things on this topic, but in a nutshell McD and Miller opened up other acquisitions. In return, we got young assets that were geared for the future. I can’t say I’d undo that trade looking at what has happened since. I can’t say I’d move Lundkvist, Howden and those picks to have either guy back either.

I’ll venture a guess that even if he didn’t go in 2018, he would’ve gone a year later when they signed Panarin.

And in that scenario, the results for Miller wouldn’t be very different nor would the return on a trade. That sucks to say, but it’s the most plausible prediction for me.

No guarantee he would’ve had the same development curve here, but Rangers botched that one for sure. Finally drafted a forward with higher than middling top 6 potential in forever and gave him away for scraps.

Imagine him in place of Strome right now. And yes, it’s ok to cry

He said himself that getting traded by two teams was an eye opener for him and that he needed to get better before he was out of a job.

We've had this debate before. My issue with the trade was adding Miller when the value we got in return didn't balance the equation. I would've had no problem trading him in a separate deal if they felt like he wasn't in their long term plans.

Of course the islanders capitalize on 4 caps being suspended.
Also the Rangers have to take advantage of making up ground on teams like the caps and even flyers during this period of missing big players

Islanders - Devils tonight. Hoping for a beatdown either way and no OT. But we'll probably get OT.

Yeah we have to hope for no OT games but of course the opposite will happen lol.
Sabre’s and islanders benefit from the caps player loss over the next 4 games

PLD has basically been benched by Torts. 3rd lowest ice-time in the 1st period, and Riley Nash is being double-shifted in his spot for the 2nd

Yes, he hasn’t played since like 9 minutes into the game. 8 minutes remaining the second. Sitting on the bench.

Imagine PLD took his gear off at intermission and told Torts to shove it in front of the entire locker room? That would accelerate things. :naughty:
