I will say again now especially that we have lafreniere...

If you put 22 23 24 25 year old Fil Chytil between Panarin and Kakko or Lafreniere Kakko or Kreider he’s going to put up points and be a horse in the middle. I really have zero doubt about it. Even if his playmaking doesn’t come completely thats going to for sure come from his left wingers

I think the issue is that Fil plays a game that Panarin will want no part of as Panarin likes the give and goes, setting things up in the offensive zone where Fil is heading for the net with it. If we are working him into the top 6 its more likely that Zib plays with Panarin in that scenario but thats just my opinion, unless Fil can change his game.

we’ll see about that. I think it’s more about developing than changing his game. Just had his 21st birthday. This will be a big year for him to show strides. He’s so young he should actually be included in Pronmans new rankings. People here really have a hard time wrapping their heads around how young he is because it feels like he’s been here a while now.

Theodore would be the perfect trade but there is zero chance that vegas trades him. only team dumb enough to trade him was the ducks.

You could possibly work a deal around Glass or Krebs if you think they are future 1B centers...but vegas would need to add. Both have had some injuries but would both fill the 2C spot long term and potentially be 1C down the road. but they are still prospects so we would need more...and I'm not sure what they might be willing to part with to even it out.

Krebs+Hauge+1st.

Don't get me wrong, i don't wanna sound like im down on him, i like Fil but i just don't think him and Panarin play a game that compliment each other, atleast not yet. He was a steal of a pick that year and he continues to improve so here's hoping you are right, it would make moving on from Strome a lot easier.

Players like Laf will likely make anybody playing Center more productive. Fil would better, likley Howden, etc. I’m very curious to see if Barron develops into the 2nd line center with such talented wingers.

i see Morgan being the perfect heavy third line left wing who can move over to center when needed. Not sure he has the skating to be better than that But he could be a 3C. He’s so smart he could be the guy to do it.

i’m shooting high than that b/c Fil doesn’t appear to see the ice too well and Howden literally misses routine passes.

Any or all should be better with Laf and that’s what the Rangers need. Lower priced talent exceeding expectations b/c Laf and Kakko live up to their potential. The stars should others better

I think that's a fair and reasonable expectation for him.

I think there's often a desire for those type of guys to be more, because there's so much to like about their game. But I think if we keep the expextations focused more on an essential third line role, we're likely to be pleased with the results.

Wanted too check out Pronman's 2020-21 rankings on the Athletic and apparently I have to subscribe. Is that the only way to get around it or is there another way? Actually now that I think about it, everytime I want to see anything for any sport on the Athletic I have to subscribe but too this point I've resisted. Should I just go for it? Is it worth it?

It’s so cheap they’re always doing like 50 percent off. I pay like 50 bucks once a year If that? I don’t even think about it.

Alright...F it...I'll do it. I've been tempted before trust me but based on principal I refused too pay for opinions when I can get them for free anytime I want. That said, there are some very good writers there at the Athletic as seemingly they've recruited the best around and so I might as succomb and go for it.

Does the Athletic do fantasy rankings and shit like that or you never noticed?

there’s a lot of good stuff there I mean I originally got it for prospect stuff and other hockey articles but I’m a giants/Mets/FCBarcelona fan too and the articles and breakdowns for multiple sports makes it worth it. I don’t pay for any other news service

Cool...I just did it. Like you said they did have some special...it was just a $1 for the month and I can cancel at anytime or pay I think it was $29.99 the rest of the way if I decided to keep it.

I'll likely keep it as they do have fantasy rankings and seeing my fantasy football draft is tonight while the Bolts Isles game is on and I've done basically no research this year, I might as well go with their rankings and see how it goes...lol

I'm going to read that Pronman's prospects report now...it looks good.

Yeah I bought it for Pronman’s rankings too.
Rangers made the top 4. Along with New Jersey, Toronto, Vancouver . I think Vancouver will be #1.

When I looked at Ronman's rankings, it only had it from Buffalo @ 5 thru Washington @ 31 and so I assumed they would reveal the top 5.

I thought Rangers might be #1 or #2 at worst yet your saying they are #4. How do I read that part as I don't see it where Ronman reveals the top 5 as I just looked again to see if I missed it.

Curious why you think Vancouver has us beat out?

He hasn’t announced the top 4 yet. Buffalo was #5

but clearly it’s NYR Van NJ Tor from what’s left so we’re just speculating on what that final order will be.

He weighs actually NHL players heavily, the only reason Toronto made it this high is because of Matthews. Vancouver has a good prospect pool + Hughes and Pettersson. That should push them over the top.

Pronman still thinks Mittelstadt is a very good prospect, and that's not even among his weirdest takes, so I'd just take these rankings with a grain of salt...

of course it’s not the final word but it’s fun to read, also gives insight to other teams prospects I had no idea about. In the end it’s just one guys opinion.

@Maximus
Also I said the Rangers are top 4 not necessarily 4th. They should be ranked ahead of Toronto but the Matthews factor...

Plus he’s going to release a new ranking once the draft is over which should push us up to 2.

I get Vancouver has a solid prospect pool but me personally I'd have to think long and hard about taking Hughes and Pettersson over our Fox and Lafreniere. You add in Kakko, Kravstsov, Robertson, Miller, Chytil...etc etc I dunno...maybe I need to study up on Vancouver's prospect pool because I'd be hard pressed to find anyone who has a better prospect pool than ours.

Here's my beef with the Isles...their very existence is to troll the Rangers and Rangers fans. Truthfully, I don't even hate the organization or any of their current players, I hate the fan base. Sure, some individual fans are fine and I'm friends with some. But in general that fan base is awfully cocky. They love talking about their dynasty which ended nearly FOUR decades ago. They also love harping on "once since '40." Do I wish the Rangers had won a few more cups? Sure. But, honestly who cares about what happened in the 40s-60s when the Canadians would win every year because they got all the best French Canadian players?! It's a tired and lazy chirp and you shouldn't root for a team based on their championship history or lack thereof.
As far as this current Isles team...their good. Very Good. Very well coached for sure. But, thus far they've had good matchups for them...until now. Tampa is a great team that is on a mission. Can the Isles beat them? Sure. But Tampa is better.
Oh and "Stat Boy"... Don't you think Isles fans would be saying the same thing about the Rangers if the roles were reversed?
