Just to reiterate, we don't know how things would have turned out otherwise, but, gee thanks, TB and Dallas for picking this year to potentially meet in the Finals.

And ironically enough, at this point isn't McD the only deadline acquisition left on either roster who came from the Rangers?

Miller and Zuccarello both moved on. In fact, McDonagh is the only player left on the team he was traded to from either of the trade deadline deals in 2018 and 2019.

And while Tampa was known as Rangers-south for a few years, they didn't come any closer to winning with our old guys than we did.

Callahan, Boyle, Miller, Stralman, and Girardi are all gone.

McDonagh is in a support and looks like the player I feared he'd resemble at this stage of his career. Though he probably benefitted as much as anyone from the spring stoppage. Otherwise he was heading toward another second half of a season where durability was a dark cloud hanging over his head.

Recchi was an assistant coach with the Penguins beginning 2017. He has never played or coached for Ruff as far as I know.

Dallas simply was not skating the first two periods. I was at the watch party in the AAC, left after two. The Stars were coasting and reaching for every puck. If they play like this they have zero chance. If they wake up and skate, who knows. Tough to judge them on this game because the entire team looked hungover.

You know who should be trying to bang our door down for DeAngelo this summer Not that we’d necessarily answer?

Vegas

running 5 lefty D out there and one bad rookie righty. Theodore although great is not a great option for the PP.

DeAngelo for Theodore would fix a lot of issues on either side but I doubt Vegas is willing to part with him

And that’s probably the only guy I’d take for him from their side.

MAYBE could be enticed by Glass but that’s a question mark more than a no brainer.

Theodore would be the perfect trade but there is zero chance that vegas trades him. only team dumb enough to trade him was the ducks.

You could possibly work a deal around Glass or Krebs if you think they are future 1B centers...but vegas would need to add. Both have had some injuries but would both fill the 2C spot long term and potentially be 1C down the road. but they are still prospects so we would need more...and I'm not sure what they might be willing to part with to even it out.
