Did we get Miller or Lundkvist with the pick from the McDonagh trade? Hopefully whichever one it was and Hajek will do enough to make that trade not hurt.

Lundkvist was from that trade.

Though Miller quickly fell from grace in Tampa as well.

I mean power to him, he’s on his third NHL team, playing with some awesome young centers and putting it together.

I liked miller here especially when the line of miller and Hayes played well but I was wrong I thought I kreider was the better player of the two.
Kreider still does a few things better but Miller has just had a ridiculous year
I liked Miller too. Problem is, I don’t think he liked it here. I remember taking shit from a few folks on this board for commenting on how Miley just looked unhappy on the bench most of the time.

I’m not saying that this proves I’m right or anything, but Miller is turning out to be a classic change of scenery guy. It’s easy to regret trading him but I can’t see him attaining this success here.

Underrated how well the NHL / NBC / Rogers has done w the coverage/nat audio IMO

It’s really close to being great.

I would love to know how much rehearsing they did or what the process has been. I’m not talking about the music or goal songs... it’s the subtle part that is really quite good.

Agree with a lot of this, the Miller we are seeing in Vancouver is not the same one we'd be seeing if he'd stayed a Ranger.
My only issue is that by most accounts the issue was between him and AV. If the Rangers had decided that they were moving from AV it would have been interesting to Miller here with a new coach. He was a mid-50s point player in a situation he didn't like; could Quinn have got him to buy into a system that saw him engaged on every shift?

I think Quinn and JT Miller would have meshed fine.

By all accounts, it was definitely AV that Miller wasn't a fan of and vice versa. However, Miller was a bit of a diva in his own right, imo. I think he also needed to get traded once or twice to make him get a reality check.

That’s a valid opinion.

Sometimes you look at a guy and you wonder if he just needed more time to “get it”, or that he “gets it” because he was moved to the right environment and the move shocked him into making the right changes.

My gut tells me this doesn’t happen in NY, or even in the high scoring Tampa lineup either.

Dunkin has 700 stores in the Boston DMA and a lot more in surrounding New England. That’s their wheelhouse.
It was one of the weirdest experiences going into a dunkin and seeing all the “Yankees sucks”cups and what not. I know Boston hates them with a burning passion but going into random stores and their selling “Jeter sucks” “ Yankees suck” T-shirt’s was completely foreign to me. :joker:

If you get the Athletic, this is a good behind the scenes read...

How exactly does the NHL's fake crowd noise operation work?

Have the Coyotes been experimenting with testosterone injections for their players?

I agree in that Samsonov should have been the goalie for them. Is he injured? Holtby has been terrible. They had Game 1 and he parted the seas for the Islanders to come back.

Some kind of injury to Samsonov. I don't think he was even at training camp.

They had me scared paranoid at times. "Where is the people cheering and shit!?" They actually play fans cheering and it fit really good.

Unfortunately I look at the world differently. This is also the system testing, if sports actually needs fans in the stands.
You know, saving labor costs and so.

Another feeling I got early in the playoffs. It used to be so silent at times, but it seemed normal with how silent MSG is at times.

I don’t think the Rangers had decided to move on from AV when the letter was sent out. It became pretty apparent over the final stretch of that season that AV was unhappy with the direction of the franchise, culminating with that final press conference, which was a really bad look... very defensive.

He's in a situation now where he's an alpha dawg. The way he's wired, that's who he naturally is, but on veteran laden teams no one wants to hear a kid or a new guy chirp at them. Especially if that keeps happening over and over again, that gets real irritating. But he's a young talented veteran on a team of kids, they'll listen to him. He's got a cool captain over there in Bo Horvat who I think he would mesh very well with. I think that has a lot to do with it.

It wasn't that he played poorly or wasn't liked in Tampa, it was a cap move. Other guys had better chemistry with each other, especially with the guys that came through their AHL team.
