**Bettman pulls out an ice cold ping-pong ball with the Rangers' logo on it**
The only problem is that an ice cold ball won't be red white and blue. Black with a Gold 66. :)
1/8 shot at 1 OA without tanking or being just a horrible horrible team, I am good with that.

Now that Toronto has lost we now need Carolina to lose as well. If Carolina does lose where will we pick with our second first? I’m guessing the 22-24 range?

I want to like the second half of this post, but I can't because the first half.
I hear you, but you know that despite the fact a successful team in NYC makes the whole league have a higher profile and more value, things will never get skewed in the Rangers favor. The Mary Sues are well known and obvious. Tinfoil hat off.

And that was 7 years after his last playoff game as a Ranger. :(

Leetch & Eli had similar career trajectories. Leetch won the Norris in '97 & the Rangers went to the ECF. Eli won Super Bowl MVP in 2012. After that their respective organizations flushed the rest of the prime of their careers down the crapper. Sigh.

HF crapping itself b/c the Leafs suck. You just love to see it.

I can't wait for the next update full of empty promises. HF admins should run for office

maples leafs have now officially tied the Rangers 54 year cup drought...if the leafs dont win the cup next season they will then own the cup drought record at 55 years....thank god we are off that dreaded list
You're off by a year. It'll only be 53 seasons for the Leafs once the Cup for the 19-20 season is awarded.

They will tie the Rangers after they get eliminated next season.

It's 2020 right now.

So that's 53 years. You're right that 2021 would be 54 years since 1967, but that's next year.

Just count it out by hand. It's 53 right now for the Leafs.

:teach:

yes its 53 right now. but even if they win next year that would be year 54 which ties the rangers...so they tied us cause they can't win it in less than 54 years.

I guess it depends on the semantics of if you're looking at in calendar years vs actual playing seasons.

Your logic makes more sense if you look at it in terms of actual seasons instead of calendar years, as both are at 53 Cup-less seasons, and the Rangers got theirs in the 54th season, so that's not really a Cup-less season, but it's technically a Cup-less year because the NHL season occurs during the calendar flip to the next year, which is kinda dumb.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

David Pastrnak was a 24th overall pick. we need to improve our scouts

We picked Kreider at 19, Miller at 15, Skjei at 28, Stepan at 51.

Also, Do 20-ish other teams have to improve their scouting since they missed on Pastrnak (in a draft where the Rangers did not have a first round pick, if I might add)?

I think you are completely wrong here....if the Leafs win the cup next season it will be 54 years since they won a cup....so basically they have as of right now tied the record...if they do not win the cup in 2021 then by the time 2022 rolls around it would be 55 years since they won a cup...at the end of the day they have officially tied the record because if they win the cup next season it would be 54 years since they won a cup so that ties the record

1994-1940 = 54
2021-1967 = 54

by that arithmetic you have proven my point...the record is officially tied right now as we speak, because if the leafs win the cup next season (2021) then it will be 54 years since they last won a cup in 1967...your math has proven me correct
