Prospects =\= sure thing. Johns and Paliotta could just as easily be the next Clendening or Morin or Pirri. 60ish games into the season and Leddy is apparently already able to carry the defensive load for the Hawks despite never proving it while he was actually here

I honestly do not understand how any of these sentences are related. Leddy didn't prove he could carry the load because he was never asked to do it, plenty of people watched him play and thought he was capable of filling a bigger role. As far as prospects =/= sure thing goes, there will be young players on the blueline next season, if none of them are capable of filling a role we are in a whole lot of trouble with or without Seabrook.

Good times in San Jose!

Earlier today, we passed along what Sharks GM Doug Wilson told season-ticket holders about the organization’s decision to take away Joe Thornton‘s captaincy, explaining that the “pressure and stress†of wearing the “C†caused Thornton to lash out at people.

Now, Jumbo has replied:

Simmering issues boiling over in SJ. #SJSharks Thornton on latest from GM Wilson on taking away the ‘C': “Doug needs to shut his mouth.â€

Here's more from Wilson:

"He cares about the game so much. The reason we took the 'C' off him ... Joe carries the weight of the team on his shoulders, and he's got such a big heart that when stress comes on him, he lashes out at people," Wilson said, "and it kind of impacts them.

"The pressure and stress, I felt, was getting to Joe," the general manager said. "And I sat him down and said we need other players to step up and share this. He got it. He didn't like it, but he got it and he understood it."

Kid is something else. Wasn't he like a 5th rounder too?

4th round pick, but again he had first round talent, but stupid GMs put too much emphasis on size and dismissed the kid until the 4th round...what he did at Dubuque in the USHL was a treat to watch...him, Riley Barber. and Girgensons was a solid group that team had..

Gaudreau is going to be a top 10 point producer for the next decade when you watch his skills...just amazing..

thanks for the effort putting this together BWC.

I can see the NHL and NBC cringing looking at the possibility of 3 teams from Canada making the playoffs from the West...

not sure when the last time that happened to be honest...too lazy to look it up!
