Anaheim is 23 games above .500 and only has a goal differential of +11. They are such a pretender. LA can sleepwalk through the Pacific playoffs while the Central is a dogfight. BS.

I'll call BS on it if the NHL changes up the playoff format again at their next opportunity.

If they stick to their guns and keep the current format through the long haul, I have no problem with it because division dominance ebbs and flows. There will be years down the road where the Pacific, Metro and Atlantic are the 82-game knife fight that the Central currently is, while the Central is a pillow fight.

I don't really care about the standings at this point - and don't care who we face at all.

I did check tonight and see that, yet again, LA is out of playoff position.

There's really no team to be 'scared' of. That doesn't mean we'll automatically beat every team. But still. Competition is what it is - and all we can really do is sit back and patiently wait.

Pretty insane that the Kings are actually is some danger of missing the playoffs. I still think they'll find a way in, but man they are cutting it close.

I do love me a Penguins melt down. Is there a team in the big four sports with less composure than these guys?

Great move by their GM.

And the Hawks gave away their future for Timonen. Smh.

I didn't like the Timonen trade, but 'gave away their future' is little ridiculous. They have another 2nd. They'll get another 2nd, at least, from the Sharp trade. A 4th rounder doesn't have a particularly huge chance at making the NHL, and the club already has a log-jam of prospects in their development system anyway.

Going one year with slightly fewer picks than usual isn't going to kill this team.

Potentially two second round picks isn't our future.

Not everyone will work out but lets not forget our best player was a 2nd round pick. Without him the Hawks never win cups

So who knows how much damage may have been done with that trade? We will never know but as of now Kimmo has not been worth anything close to the cond 4th ,, Let alone the 2nd

Timonen isn't going to be the difference between getting eliminated first round or making it to WCF. Awful trade.

Not an awful trade (yet). We have little idea of how he'll perform in the playoffs. He could potentially help us quite a bit.

Stop getting so overworked about a couple draft picks. More often than not, those draft picks never amount to anything.

If we moved Morin for a seventh and that seventh became Gretzky 2.0 it doesn't mean that the Jackets traded away their future.

That's nonsensical logic.
