I mean.........Babcock being a mega prick is well documented so this is exceptionally not surprising if true.

I think it’s the speed of it all that makes it so fascinating.

He just got back from a several year banishment and has been on the job for like 3 days and he’s already asking players to give a power point presentations on their biggest fears and announce who has/hasn’t been circumcised.

The Columbus front office deserves everything it might get coming to them.

It was just debunked by both the coach and the player.

Fake news and honestly, Spittin chiclets, if this is all false, should have a defamation suit coming their way
I mean it wasn't debunked. It was basically confirmed by the PR team. Now obviously the way they portrayed the situation is very different to what the SC guys were originally implying. Like Babcock taking their phone, wanting to see what the guys have been up to during the summer.

Phones should be private, and as such it was not an ok move by Babs. But I'm also willing to believe that there was no malicious intent there.

I see people saying this is a slippery slope but I like the implications of it regardless. Even if the CHL loses a tiny fraction of their star power, I like the avenues it opens up. Not every star junior player will be able to handle the AHL before they're 20 anyway. And for the ones that can.. it opens up more opportunities for other players that might've been buried behind them. Bump the guys that are too good for juniors up a notch and let other players try to make a name for themselves

Q&A: The latest on Elias Pettersson, Trevor Zegras, Patrick Kane and more from NHL agent Pat Brisson

On the future of Kane, who underwent hip resurfacing surgery in June and was expected to miss four to six months

Well, I’m so proud of him. First of all, his rehab has been unbelievable. He’s been so dedicated … because rehab is as important if not more than the surgery itself. We’ve had many conversations here and there. There’s a lot of interest with Patrick Kane. But our goal here is to see if and when he clears — and again, I’m not going to put dates, whether it’s November or December, I don’t know. At that point, we’ll look at the landscape, we’ll look at what the needs are going to be for certain teams, the cap space. There’s gonna be so many other factors that we don’t know yet in three months or four months or two and a half. And I think we’re going to be in a really good seat at that point to make the right decision with Pat.

On Zegras

Yeah, we’ve had a few conversations. At this point, we’re a week away. We want for Trevor, hopefully, to be ready for camp and be there at camp. Hopefully, we can get something done by camp. It’s not good for anyone to miss camp. It’s not good for the organization. It’s not good for any players that matter. So we’re going into this in good faith, trying to work a fair deal. And hopefully we can get something done. Hopefully, I can put a timeline before camp. If not, then unfortunately, we’ll have to explore other options. But the goal here is to get it done before camp.

Brisson mentioning they arent putting out dates and particularly mentions cap space, which yes - is an issue for most competing teams - but for the Rangers in particular. Some smoke to that comment, its no surprise Kane love his time here.

Zegras... A mention of "missing camp" and "exploring other options" in any regard is very interesting.

Queue the fantasy trade talk to the Rangers, again....

As far as I know, Shane Wright is AHL eligible because he completed 4 full seasons in major juniors. The 2020-21 season, despite being cancelled, still counts.

The "20 year old rule" doesn't apply to Wright. This is similar to Sean Day who would have been eligible in 2017-18 to play in the AHL despite being 19.
