Torts suspended 2 games and fined $50,000, which his owner pledged to pay.

Every bit of it was deserved. No matter how much refs might suck, you can't behave like this.

Everyone worried about the Canes and I'm here still salty watching Bedard toe drag people and snipe corners. I think I have "shot wide" PTSD and just mesmerized by legit snipers. :(

His team got pumped and he is the only thing anyone is talking about.

Mission accomplished. If you don't see that, you don't understand Torts.

I had multiple PE teachers like Torts.

I definitely do NOT understand Torts or his appeal.

He's very much an "ARE YOU INJURED OR ARE YOU HURT?" kind of guy, and I have less than zero time for that horseshit as an adult.

Funny enough, the players seem to really like Torts.

He is an asshole to the world to keep the spotlight off the players. That's always been him.

You're reacting to what he wants you to react to.

Man who would have had Matt Boldy become such a better player than Kakko on draft night 2019.

He was like what the 5th or 6th best player of that USNTDP crop?

It was for only a 2nd to Seattle. The 4th was for 50% retention of his 4 million dollar salary.

Neither did I. I'm not sure something like that has ever happened in OT before.
Some other teams give a 5 or 6 for retention.. we usually gives a third or fourth lol

Kap Kak has a few years to go 😆

I wouldn't.. they play 90s defense and we play down to bad teams.
honestly, best case - he has himself a decent POs, we resign him long term to a super reasonable long term contract like 7x3.6, AND THEN he breaks out. Worst case is he go bananas in the playoffs, we sign him to a heavy long term contract, and then he goes Rongos retirement home on us. Worst best case is the worst case version but we at least win the cup this year but can't say I'm super optimistic about that outcome.

Worst case is he sucks, the Rangers get swept in the first round and then he gets traded for peanuts to the Devils and becomes a superstar.

A few players we wonder about in the offseason who were not dealt at the deadline...

Linus Ullmark: As Elliotte mentioned on Headlines this trade story is not over. Last week we mentioned here the Bruins have a goalie dilemma facing them with Brandon Bussi requiring waivers.

Trevor Zegras: A difficult deal to make at the deadline but when things open up at the draft and into the summer we wonder if a trade comes into focus here.

Jacob Markstrom: Can the relationship with Calgary be repaired or is this situation marching towards an inevitability?

Martin Necas: Was he part of the package going to Vancouver in the Elias Pettersson stalking horse trade?

With Seattle moving Alexander Wennberg to the New York Rangers I’m wondering at what point they call up Shane Wright from the Coachella Valley Firebirds of the AHL. Playing the remainder of the season with the Kraken and then returning to the Firebirds for the playoff run makes a lot of sense for his development, doesn't it?

The Buffalo Sabres will be one of the most interesting teams to follow at the draft and into the offseason.

As for this morning, Rangers have 11 out of 19 games against teams currently in playoff position or tied.

Carolina as 9 out of 18 games against the same criteria.

One of those is our matchup with them.

If NYR wins tonight, they would be up 4 points on CAR, a loss 2 points. At that point, it could very well just come down to our match up against them that would determine the Metro.
Aside from the head 2 head, our toughest matchups remaining is FLA, WPG, BOS, and COL. And we have 3 more against an Islanders team that should be pretty motivated.

CAR has BOS, BOS, TO, TO, and FLA to challenge them.

Going to be a very tight race for Metro 1.
