Emily Kaplan of ESPN reported Ducks GM Pat Verbeek offered Rangers GM Chris Drury a package deal including two Ducks forwards vatrano and Henrique for Kappo Kakko and a first-round pick which he rejected

Waddell didn't seriously engage in the Guentzel sweepstakes until Wed AM (Waddell saw some reports in the media and gave Dubas a call to convey their interest). Also says Dubas was more interested in prospects than picks.

Avs were in on Tanev and apparently offered a 1st and Johansen for him, but Calgary didn't want Johansen's contract on their books.

Thank God. He then filled those needs with Wennberg and Roslovic for a combined 2nd, 4th, and 2026 4th and both came with 50% retention.

Who says that getting the biggest names wins the deadline? Been there done that. Cheap bastards Carolina still have to sign Guentzel to a huge contract or he is just a very expensive rental. Glad we didn't "win" the deadline.
