Hagelin, Backstrom (WSH), and one other recent NHLer underwent this procedure and were ineffective. I’m no surgeon or sports medicine pro but Kane’s recovery does seem pretty remarkable.
It also could go sideways for him at any moment still. And I think that’s the risk drury didn’t want to take again at that time where it’s Cup or bust for him vs Detroit just happy to have him.

We didn't have anything to pay him anyway.

He didn’t really overcome incredible odds. I mean, we literally just watched the same scenario unfold with Jack Eichel. I get it. It was a different part of the body, but the same thing was said about Eichel.
the shit that was being said about Eichel was floated by not too smart people mostly.

This is just incorrect.

Eichel is still a young guy and was having a somewhat experimental procedure done. The risk there was in the unknown.

Kane is old and he had a surgery that has a track record of being a career ender for NHL players.

I was heavily anti Kane even before the trade last year. We don’t need him on this team. But it’s still funny that we got to spend assets to watch his husk labor around and now he goes to Detroit for free and is rejuvenated.

I would add if I was the Flyers GM. But not overpay. They are overachieving at least this year. The playoffs can do wonders for them. I would not want to face them in the playoffs. They are well coached. Torts is one of the best in NHL History for a reason.
Torts is a master at getting buy-in from low-skill rosters and forging them into something that's more than the sum of it's parts.... for a time. I think he's a great coach, but one you know you're going to have to fire in 3-4 years when the players start to tune him out.

Bruins are frauds 14 OT losses. That’s a joke

Dallas can’t beat anyone lately

Vancouver can’t beat anyone lately

Edmonton can’t beat anyone lately.

We are just as likely to win this thing as anyone
every team has flaws.
Only one that might not would be Vegas especially with the fact they have LTIR'd 2 star players again.
They will most likely try to add and then miraculously get Eichel and Stone back game 1 for the playoffs.
I guess sucks for the Oilers who most likely will play them first round.

I think we want DET over WSH in this one. Keep the DET ahead of the Devs and Islanders

PHI for sure over TBL but 3 point game is best
