They ended up winning this one at least.

Man the Stars have looked like shit lately I thought they were supposed to be good?
That's because every team, even really good teams, struggle in an 82 game marathon season. You seem unable to grasp this concept. It's happened to Vegas, Edmonton, Colorado, Boston, Toronto, Rangers, Carolina, Vancouver, Winnipeg, etc.

This is what real leaders do. Fight to spark and wake up the team when they aren't playing well . It's sad that Trouba and Trocheck are the only ones with A or C on their jersey willing to do this. Its a shame Mika, sometimes Kreder couldn't fight out of a wet plastic bag. Drury needs to realize that the top 6 is too soft for playoff hockey.

Beauty of a short handed goal as it looked like the Penguins were taking control of the game.
I was being facetious, but yeah. He good.

Dallas needed Tanev just to spark them but he’s a good fit. Munchkins like Hanley and Nils aren’t cutting it in the playoffs.

If no team’s step up to beat Tampa Bay for Hanifin I’ll be sick

Am I crazy or does the Tanev return seem light?

It's the Josh Manson formula.

I don't know anything about the prospect Grushnikov, but since they also got Tanev's cap hit down to 1.125M, I'm surprised they couldn't of gotten a Chiarot return of a 1st. Almost every contender in the league could afford that caphit.

On every podcast and list, Tanev was the top rental. TB was also interested. Very light return. I checked twitter after the Rangers game. I had to make sure that was the correct trade. I am missing something here.

Drury is giving up the boat for rentals. You can see it coming. The guy included a conditional 1st round pick in the Kane deal when he had all of the leverage. The other GM's see him as a mark. Here comes Drury. I will soak him for an extra first round pick.

Vancouver. Edmonton. Dallas. Colorado. Toronto. TB. Vancouver tried to get Tanev in the Lindholm trade but Calgary wanted a first round pick. Calgary picked 50% too.

I agree with you 100% about the Kane deal. If Kane only want to come here, and there are no other bidders. Why the hell would you pay top dollar? Its just like the St. Louie trade, he only want to play here. If the Rangers management was a business, they would be out of business so quick.

Can someone explain to me why the Devils did this for a 4th? Seems not worth the retention and the prospect...

The Devils bought a draft pick for $293,967. They have the space.

The Rangers don't want to ruffle any feathers. Take the extra pick.

Im not all that worried about picks at the moment. I am thinking we are going to see some peripheral guys go out for picks this summer. It's decision time on Lindgren, Jones, Robertson and I have no doubt we can add a 2nd or 3rd by dealing them. Goodrow might also have more value to a young team entering contention this summer. He has actually been solid now that he is getting carried by the smash brothers.

?

Trocheck is physical in the sense that he hits a lot and that's about it. He's not a fighter....he's fought 5 times in the last 5 years. Though he does bring some edge and a lot of physicality the biggest reason that Trouba fights 4 or 5 times a year is because he's being retaliated against.

I'm probably one of the more fight happy people here but not everyone on the Rangers should have to do this. To me if it's not in your hockey DNA it's best not even going there and since we do have guys who will...we're fine. I definitely don't like when our more skilled players (apart from scrumming) getting into these things.

By the way Kreider has had a number of fighting majors for on ice encounters that depending on what someone might define as a fight could apply. He's not very good at it.....more of a wrestler and he's never learned the art of punching with much force. I've always worried he'd get into a scrap with someone who is good and get his ass handed to him. If he's going after someone like Subban fine, they can fall all over each other---a Tom Wilson or a Matt Martin bad idea.

I'd rather have a player be willing than turn the other cheek to rely on the refs to make the call.
