Gauthier was a weird player who created high danger chances as a 4th liner and couldn't finish and this board would have preferred he never created anything.
He also drew a ton of penalties and his skating made him a threat every time he was on the ice. He was improving every game last year until he took a couple of head shots. He deserved a shot in the middle 6 last year, but the coaching staff was too stubborn to make it happen.

Gauthier has one game where he looks amazing and everyone creams their pants.

Literally had one of these against Dallas last year where he scored one of the most ridiculous individual effort goals I’ve seen a player score.

He settled into what he’s always been after that.

I was on the Gauthier wagon all year last season.....regardless, even if he's a career 4th liner he's still a massive upgrade on Pitlick or Brodzinski. Hell, I'd rather see what he can do with Mika & Kreider than watch Wheeler struggle to keep up.

At his salary, he's the perfect 12th or 13th forward.

Always cool to see the coach of the D1 team from when you were in college get some NHL coaching moments (Appert w/ Buffalo)

I remember gauthier not being particularly good in the defensive zone which is death to a player who can’t actually score enough to be a legit top six according to NHL coaches. No matter how many chances you create, if you’re not scoring then you need to be blocking shots and playing positional hockey in the defensive zone. Dumb or not that’s how the NHL goes

Well deserved and future hall of famer when he retires. Loved him as Rangers coach.

Guy seemingly gets more crap than just about any other coach, and I get his shtick can be annoying to fans, media, and players alike. I've seen him called a "dinosaur" coach by several teams, but if you look at his results and the rosters he's gotten those results with, he consistently adds W's to teams with no business finishing where they do.

Reminds me a lot of Trotz, except without the aura of respect and prestige Trotz carries, especially after winning with the Caps. Should be an easy HoFer unless the voters are petty enough to vote against his "personality."

Torts was super cool when I ran into him in a restaurant on Easter 2013 about a week before Gaborik got traded. I'll never forget that.

Gauthier will have moments like that his entire career. He's probably going to have a John Druce playoffs one year and get overpaid by some team.

The NHL is a joke in the US because 2 generational talents (McDavid & Mathews) are stuck on Canadian teams with 0 chance of winning a Cup because of their goalies.

Frederic just scored ran over Detroit goalie then taunted Chiarot to fight him for it and no one on Detroit even came near him. What a terrible hockey team. They’ll be at the bottom of the standings soon

Derek Lalonde won't make it to the end of the season if they bottom out.

Jack Edwards about to have a meltdown due to Bruins challenging for goalie interference which the goal counted and Wings get a powerplay 2-2. The claimed no goalie interference since he was outside the blue paint. Now they are saying if goalie is outside the paint run him over. Theg are the worst announcers in all of sports

I was ready to turn off the game the last time the Rangers played the Bruins because I could only watch the Bruins feed.

I have nothing against the guy personally but Edwards is terrible. I don't know if there's something wrong with him or he just isn't any good. He doesn't pronounce names correctly let alone accurately describe what's going on during the game.

Absolutely brutal. Don't know how the Bruins fans do it but makes me appreciate Sam and Joe a lot more.
