I also remember him getting stripped by either laf or chytil in the neutral zone and them walking in for an easy goal.
And him getting a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct for putting the puck in the net after the whistle.

He was the reason we lost in the bubble to Carolina, and the reason we beat them in the playoffs the following year.

Maple Leafs gain cap space to re-sign Matthews and maybe Nylander too (not sure of the exact numbers). Re-signing Nylander would be stupid as they need a roster more more attuned to performing in the playoffs; I trade him id I were them. That core 4 hasn't won anything; 1 playoff round in the last 7-8 years.

Toronto running it back with the same old core again. Surely it will work this time!

Not sure what pisses me off more....all these LTIR shenanigans or the fact that Drury is a f***ing idiot who didn't take advantage of it last year with Lindgren.

When GMs gather around camp fires, instead of telling ghost stories, they just pretend it's the post-season and take turns reading aloud from the Leafs Capfriendly page.

Maybe a bit of a novice question but how are teams (TML for example) allowed to sign contracts (Domi, Bertuzzi) that place them well over the cap by 8+ million? Even with their moves of Murray and probably Muzzin on LTIR they are still over and are yet to settle Matthews’ extension or Nylander.

Teams are allowed to be 10% over the cap until a certain date in preseason.

I have no inside knowledge of the matter, but my guess is that Jim Ramsay was fired because he misdiagnosed the seriousness of Lindgren's injury which is how we ended up playing short once we traded for Kane.

Is it worth listening to Jagr's interview on the Spittin Chiclets podcast from late June?

Troy Terry is the shit.

This is a fantastic deal. Zegras gets a ton of the attention but he is actually the best player on that team.

No Doubt. It's funny people talk about Zegras like he is the best player on the team, not at all. If some of the Ducks prospects like Carlsson even come close to their potential, he will end up like the 4th or 5th best player, which is a very good thing.

Troy Terry scored 61 points last season. He's 25. Non physical. Gets 7mil and we are calling it a great deal. Is he great defensively? Take faceoffs? Meanwhile we bitch about Trocheck, age 30 signed as a UFA not RFA, getting 5.625. Scored 65 points, very good defensively, physical, our best face off guy...
Obviously I haven't watched Anaheim enough... what am I missing?

Troy Terry took his “big step” at age 24. Just sayin’
True.

Man, if the Rangers had just one of Kakko / Laf explode like that this year or next...

He's 25 and hes scored 60 goals, 68 apples in his last two seasons.

You try to lock those guys up and eat into their UFA years if you can. This deal does. You have to pay for that.
