I'm late with this question, but why would TOR trade for Georgiev? Or why would we want to? They have no interesting picks for upcoming draft. Kapanen and Nylander are players alright, but way too fluffy for my liking.

Their defense is their main issue. Andersen is and has been absolutely awesome for them, fits their window if they can fix the D, which they won't because they are ****ed against the cap.

Exciting weeks ahead.
They rely on Andersen too much, their back ups have been terrible or unreliable at best since last season, and the way they’ve structured their cap means they’re going to have to rebuild their defense every few years as it is so they might not want to give Andersen a huge contract after next season

Just read that the Blue Jackets have NO players in the top 65 in scoring in the league and yet they are currently in a playoff spot.

Is there any doubt that Torts besides being most likely a future Hall of Famer, is the leading contender for Coach of the Year?

Just a ridiculous phenomenal job by him and other than Sullivan of the Penguins, I can't think of anyone else in the league who has done as good a job as Torts has.

His way works. He’s great. I think the ideal that the Rangers are after, is basically Torts with scoring. Or something like that. It’s weird that they’re going at it the opposite way. Starting with scoring and learning defense. I’d think the other way around would be easier. But that’s cool. I love how this team scores.

Totally agree Egg...the marriage of both ways is the optimum way tho I don't think the way the Rangers roster is currently built can do or sustain this type of play.

I do think that in maybe 2 years our defensive system will catch up to the offensive prowess the team has and we will be on our way to having some Cup contending rosters. In the meantime, like you suggest, we'll just have to deal with the fact we are what we are....an exciting offensive team first and hopefully our goaltending can keep us from losing games.

That said, the job that Torts has done with a roster which is half has talented as not just ours but most teams in the league has simply been brilliant.!!

It's one of those 2 right now.

Crazy how they were both here at the same time.

Better question IMO, why are the sources and media from Toronto proposing the acquisition of Georgiev? The Rangers end might be running with this speculation yet it wasn’t originated by the NYR, it started in Toronto.

He's an excellent coach. He and Trotz are the best for me.

We lost to them twice? Didn’t we blow them out very early in year? Game 2 I believe ?

My bad we did lose twice to them yikes!!!
Must have blocked out the second one

That's what we are about this year tho not surprising considering we are the youngest or one of the youngest teams in the league. We beat the Boston's, Colorado's, Tampa's yet lose to the Senators, Devils and Kings of the world.

One would think next year we'll be a bit more consistent than we are this season and won't lose as many games as we have to some of the shittier teams in the league.
