An update from Arizona. Poking around and heard a few things, some of which may affect the Rangers...

There is no movement on the new building that the league and the team say they need to survive. The team has until December 31st of each year to cancel or renew the lease. If they do not cancel by December 31, the lease renews automatically. This year they waited until December 20th to renew.

There is no news on part or all of the team being sold.

The Coyotes need scoring but have already committed almost $65MM to payroll next year (the same as this year) which means it is unlikely they can't make a big acquisition (Phil Kessell?) unless money goes the other way. There has been some talk that Derek Stepan might be a salary dump. They would like to move Alex Goligoski.

Chayka will have to be creative. That's where the Rangers may come in.

What’s Goligoski’s deal look like?
 
I don't really see how the two teams would be a fit for a cap dump unless they wanna give us the 14th pick to basically eat Stepan's contract for two years.

We have 3 overpaid defenseman with 2 years left on their contracts as well, don't see how we'd be any help for their Goligoski problem unless they wanna save 1M per and take Smith straight up for him

I know the popular theory is the Rangers could take on salary, but I’m not sure I see it. There’s wiggle room there, but we’re not a team hovering around the cap floor either.

Factor in the Smith, Staal and Shattenkirk contracts, and that we are still paying out Girardi, and I doubt there’s an appetite.

Then you start factoring in the possibility of them going offering big money to Panarin, and I just don’t see it.

Now, retaining on a guy like Kreider if the right deal is on the table? Yeah that’s a possibility.

Other than zone time the Carolina PP has been brutal. Well the last 20 seconds was good. If Carolina doesn’t score soon Boston wins this with a quality road team second period.

I want the Bruins to win, but the NHL and these f***ing muppet shills downplaying how the refs are neutralizing Williams is pathetic.

This league has no qualms titling the ice what so ever.
 
when your special teams is this bad its very hard to overcome no matter how good you are 5 on 5
 
I'd hold off the Bruins coronation for now. This is still a game boys. Canes showed some pride and heart there and I still give them a damn good shot at winning this so long as they score the next goal.

This game has OT written all over it. So why not a dramatic Jerks goal to win this and give them some hope in the series?...:nod:
