Good question about the severity of the Lightning loss.
Record tying regular season (lofty ROW) with quickest post season exit possible.
It might just qualify as the worst ever by those metrics.

I asked earlier but it likely got lost in all the excitement of what was happening with Jackets sweep but does this go down as THE most humiliating playoff defeat in history? I'm going to venture yes as only things that comes close top of my head is when Kings beat Oilers in '82 playoffs as Oilers were 48 points better. And as I mentioned, even our Rangers beating the Islanders in '79 ECF as they had I think the Isles had 25 more points than us was pretty damn humiliating....thoughts?
That Oilers Kings series went 5 according to wikipedia. Game 1 was 10-8 lol. Since it was best of five in 1982 I would say this is much worse. Getting swept 4-0 is just terrible. They couldn't even bring it back home for one more shot.

Only 16 reg loses in 6 months then 4 in a row in one week. Yes, it’s the worst.

And them losing is worth more to you than a higher pick for the team you root for?

When you're talking about a pick that has ~3% chance of being an impact player, sure. I don't lose sleep over a 1st that becomes a 2nd, especially when we just won the f***ing lottery.

in general, I really don't care about peripheral deals. When I'm watching the playoffs, I'm just a hockey fan like anybody else. Let the chips fall where they will, enjoy the sport in front of you!

I was watching Vegas/Sharks at the time. The Who is my favorite band of all-time. What tune were they cranking?
I have heard them play 'Won't Get Fooled Again' at least once this game and last. I like the choice considering that Baba O'Riley is such a go-to song.

So our ole boy Hayes is effectively on the Jets 3rd line as it looks like he's playing with Little and Roslovic.

Not thinking that's what the Jets had in mind when they made their deal with us....ya think?...

That's a promotion. He played less than 9 minutes in Game 2.

Too funny. I may be in the minority here but I gotta be honest, if the Jets came to us and said we'll trade you back Hayes one for one in return for Lemieux who I absolutely love on our team as he gives us the sandpaper we so desperately need , I very likely don't do it.

Pretty deep roster for Hayes to break into. I guess if he took off like a rocket he would move up, but it seems like a good fit for him IMO. Boost for a playoff push addition. I wonder what his future is there.
Read some posts lately a few folks thinking about getting him back on NYR. I think I have to think further on that, but first thought is no. More info than you asked for, I realize.

Friggen Mark Stone is carrying my playoff pool teams ass as he now has 10 points...amazing. He's been incredible as has the rest of his line with Stastny and Pacioretty.
