Call me a terrible Rangers fan but I hate the Pens more than I hate the Isles at this point in time. Living in Western PA their fans are insufferable.

Maybe things will change when the Isles will have some proper success again and their fans will become mouthy but as of right now the Isles are the lesser of two evils and I love how deflated most people are around in this area. And YES people around these parts are HUGE fair weather fans. We will see how that franchise survives when Crosby and Malkin are gone and they are scraping by again so Mario can threaten to leave.

That being said, if the Isles make it I hope they will get swept in the next round.

Forsberg wasn't generational.

Generational players in the last 40 years: Gretzky, Lemieux, Hasek, Crosby, Ovechkin and maaaaaybe Lidstrom

People get confused with the GOATS and Generational talent I think. People have different expectations.

I’d put Patrick Kane, Malkin, EKarlsson, Lundqvist, etc in that “generational” category.

The Great One, Super Mario, The Dominator.... now that’s a different category imo. Now your taking greatest of all time.

Is PPG paints arena the worst named arena in the league? Even with all the other corporate sponsors, that's a bad name.

I’d argue McDavid is a generational talent as well. I’m stoked for a franchise player of our own from 18 on, instead of grabbing one via FA in the later stages of their career.

i hate the term generational talent...it implies a once in a generation player. but then multiple players in the same generation are named

You could argue a hockey generation is 10 years. The approx length of an NHL career.

You could have a generational player in different positions at the same time though IMO

All Franchise players, not generational(not completely sold on EK either being there, though obviously a superstar). 99, 66, 87, 39, are Generational.

Stars, Superstars, Franchise, Generational.

There is no category GOAT. And if there is, there is one player, 99.

I think restricting it to one player per generation is ridiculous. Lemieux played in the same generation as Gretzky, he's not generational because his parents gave birth to him in the same time period as Gretzky's?

There's no category of anything. This is all arbitrary nonsense that we waste time on message boards discussing.

thats why i think the term is dumb.

I look at it this way.

I’ve already experienced an unprecedented run of success for the Pens... I’ve become numb to it. And over the years, my hatred of Crosby has become massive respect. He’s truly unbelievable.

Besides, as unlikable overall as the Penguins are, they will never be a QUARTER as f***ed as the Steelers and their fanbase. They make the Penguins fanbase look like Tesla.

The Isles? f*** them. I have ZERO interest in seeing them win a single playoff series, let alone go deep.

It may have been out of their hands, some of these stadiums could have other events scheduled earlier in the day.
No. Arenas must be exclusive to hockey in the spring. No exceptions.

Being born a Rangers fan within a few miles of the Nassau Coliseum I always hoped a giant sink hole would swallow that place up.

I do not like the Fishsticks or the Penguins. But, I do like Trotz. The guy can really coach and skates powerful speed lap.

The Penguins cannot complete with the Fishsticks 5 on 5 and that is a result of Trotz good coaching. So go Fishsticks. Am off to take a shower now.

Lidstrom, absolutely. Datsyuk is close.

Jagr, easily. If there had never been a Lemieux, Jagr would be thought of more as a superstar. Ray Bourque belongs in the conversation, too. As good as Lidstrom, to me.
