I could easily see us losing the next 3 (Pittsburgh, Boston, St. Louis), but after that, we could really shoot ourselves in the foot.

Philly may be eliminated by the time we play them, or at least close enough to eliminated that they may not give it their best. NJ and Ottawa are terrible. If Columbus doesn't get their act together, they could be out by the time we play them. And the last game against Pittsburgh might not have any bearing on the standings. All 5 games could end up being against teams that don't care about winning.

We need Columbus to stay in it until the end. Pittsburgh still has a good shot at the division, so hopefully the last game will matter to them. Philly and NJ are road games against division rivals. Beat Ottawa and NJ, lose the rest. Puts us at 75 points. We can't have any more games like last night though. No more beating the teams that should beat us.

We have no chance of dropping to 3rd or 4th, but we could easily end up anywhere from 5th to 10th, pre-lottery.

Not exactly "putting yourself out there", now are you?
10th? Hahaha. In line with your name..."Gag". Not happening, but 5th, is very much more likely than 10th. In fact, "4th has about as much chance now, as landing 10th.

Somebody quick......take a snapshot of standings. Because the only changes that "might happen" are Buffalo, Anaheim, and the Rangers swapping up, or down.

I could swear HF was getting really hot and bothered about the return of Buffalo early in the season.

Second lowest point total since December 1st.

We are currently in 5th. NJ is 6 points behind us and only has 6 games left to play. How many of those games do you think they are going to win? Let's be generous and say they go 3-3. One of those games is against us, so let's say one of their wins is against us. We'd still need to go 0-7 in our other games in order to end up behind them. That isn't happening.

10th place is MUCH more likely than 4th place. Chicago is only 3 points ahead of us, and like us, has 8 games left. Edmonton and Vancouver are both tied with Chicago on points, but both have played 1 extra game. Anaheim is 1 point ahead of us, but has played 3 more games than us. It will be hard for us not to pass them. Buffalo is tied with us on points and games played, and ahead of us on ROW, but how many points do you think they are going to get in their last 8 games? They have 3 points in their last 10 games.

A lot will go down for the CAR MTL CBJ three way race tonight.
Yeah I want the Jackets to make it but we need vancouver to at least grab a point tonight. That's a team I could see going into a long losing streak (vancouver)

Theres one of those in NY too.

Vancouvers next 2 are against the Ducks and the Kings.
Just saying out of all the teams that are in the mix for the 5/6/7/8... slots they are the ones that scare me the most. Those games against the ducks and the Kings are from from gimme's then their last 4 are brutal games on paper.

Carey Price saving his team. What a game he's had. From the Habs games I've seen he has had a huge comeback season

What an overtime. Staal with an amazing play at center to poke the puck to Svechnikov who comes down on a 2 on 1 and rips one past Price.

I lost all respect for the Sabres when they made no bones about tanking in Eichels draft year. It felt like every time a goalie would post a win they got traded. Shameless.
It's one of the reasons why I am wary when people just think tanking can be a 1 year thing. It is not the NFL.

Keith end to end rush to win it for chicago in overtime. So awesome to watch games this time of the year with so much on the line.
