Nashville had their chances and they lost their last two recently vs the Jets in convincing fashion. I think the game in hand and being at least 2 points down may be a bit too much to overcome for them to grab the division.

Perhaps. They’re 2 points back while Winnipeg has a game in hand. St Louis is only 4 back with the same number of games played. It’s possible

Detroit wins in San Jose, man those OTLs are really killing coming back to bite them in the draft lottery perspective. Also shows most of the bottom dwelling teams haven’t packed it in as well.

I'm watching Dylan McIlrath play for the Detroit Red Wings. Its giving me horrible flashbacks

I had no idea. Heard his name during the game and was like whaaa

Had an amazing game to boot. +14/-5 in shot attempts 5v5 (+1/-0 in goals) in a game Detroit was +37/-59 overall. They were a 73.86 CF% team with him, 29.87 without. Heavy defensive deployment (though that was true for almost every Red Wing considering the degree the Sharks shelled them).

Which team wins the Central?

Winnipeg hosts the Islanders and Habs this week. They have a 4 game road trip next week. 4 games in 6 nights. Chicago. Minnesota. Colorado. Arizona.

Nashville is in Pittsburgh on Friday and host Columbus on Saturday. At Buffalo and host Vancouver & Chicago next week.

The Blues are rolling again. They beat Vegas last night. Winners of four straight games. They somehow were shutout by Ottawa a few weeks ago. 2-0. The Blues are on the road for the Rangers on Friday & Devils on Saturday. 4 games in 6 nights next week. Colorado, at Chicago, Flyers & Canucks. The Blues can run the table. We want them to lose to the Devils.

Carp was lamenting the Rangers having a tough remaining schedule.

I will say this about the end-of-season schedule for the Rangers. Fortunately, it doesn’t matter a bit for them, but finishing with five games in seven nights is just ludicrous. Would be a terrible way to have to play must-win games and head into a playoff series.

The Rangers are playing out the string, and I’m not...

The Rangers have 7 games in 11 and 5 games in 7 day/nights starting Sunday afternoon in Philly.

The Rangers are one of eights teams with 75 games played. They played one game last week.

So tonight we need the Sabres to beat the Sens, and the Ducks to prevail over the Nucks — ideally in OT.
I honestly believe there’s a chance that Buffalo doesn’t win a game the rest of the season.

Even Ottawa is playing better than them.

Ugh. I hate having to even care about Buffalo. No one else has in about 90 years at this point.

The annoying thing is that you see teams that basically use the draft as a form of welfare. The only way they can get players is by having a top 10 pick and they literally do nothing beyond that.

Forget about rewarding teams for the amount of points they earn post TDL, how about we start taking away lottery balls for every time they’re a lottery team beyond a certain number of consecutive years or years within a certain time period?

Or after a team picks in the top 3 their lottery odds are halved the following year?

Because at some point there are literally teams whose entire strategy is to get a top 10 pick and do nothing else....ever.

This is a FANTASTIC idea

3-9-3 in the last 15 games.

If it wasn't for all the overtime points this would be our worst ending to a season since the 2000 season, 2-11-2.

I think 92-93 was the worst(modern day), 1-11.

Jesus wow... was he any good? Been awhile since we heard of the undertaker

His contract expires this year, maybe Quinn can make him into a real 3rd pair defender ahahah

I will not be shocked to see the Rangers go 1-6 in their last 7.

That top draft pick is going to be SO satisfying

Add the Avs to the Panarin sweepstakes, man they would have a great top 6 if they can add Hughes or Kakko and Panarin to MacKinnon, Rantanen and Landeskog. I couldn’t fault him for picking that over the Rangers or even sunny South Florida.

I'm on the anti-Panarin bandwagon, but still need to point out the fact that this is Dater reporting, who has a less than stellar track record.
