Their D is their weak link & has the possibility of being exposed in the playoffs. Fleury was able to cover it up during their run to the Finals last year, but Washington took advantage when MAF was simply human. One area they haven't upgraded since then was the D. Engellend is a year older & sometimes looks serviceable while other times looks like a traffic cone. Holden, as we know, should be a 7th or 8th D.

With that said, it's totally possible they make a deep run again.

Proven goaltending is huge in playoffs. Other teams are not perfect either.

Blaming Tobias f***ing Rieder?! What about not having Taylor Hall on your team because the FO is packed with morons? That’s where I’d start. The most relevant old trade in the NHL IMO

Ducks blowing late leads again but hold on to get it into overtime. Hope they can get another point.

Huge win for the Ducks. Must win since they have three more games played than us. Good luck with Vegas San Jose lol. They went out and got EK. Guy barely has played and they are gonna be out in the first round most likely

Was at the game. Fans were really into it but it’s kinda like our devils and Rangers games big rivals. Even got some OT also.

Remember when Tobias Reider snubbed the Rangers last summer for the Oilers? That guy would've been a whipping boy here and made David Deharnais look like Ron Francis.

The real question is what's worse; being called out in the Edmonton press by the CEO or being trashed by Rangers fans on HFBoards for the length of a contract?

Imagine thinking that 10-12 goals from someone like Reider is the difference here.

If Lucic had 10-12 more goals, he'd still be a $6M player with less than 20 goals AND the team would still be out of the playoffs.

What a ****show franchise.

I really want to think that the Oilers brass got together last summer and gambled the pulse of the season on 10 Tobias Reider goals.

Like that was their actual 2018-19 plan.

Why do you say that?

How about our boy Danny G, who apparently wasn't good enough to play (and got bought out) on this sh*tshow of a defense but is good enough to play nearly 18 minutes/game for the Stanley Cup favorite -and- having a positive corsi to boot?

Too bad he's injured and out for a bit now. I'd like to see him lift that Cup, too.

Really wish we bought out Staal instead. I don't want to watch him anymore.
There are a LOT of games left for this to completely bite them in the ass. That team hasn't played an important game in about 11 months.

Just feel that their chances against Vegas for various reason will be less than 50/50 for sure. If EK plays most of the season rather than missing 30 games they most likely win the division and miss Vegas in round 1. Either way should be a fun first round matchup.

Another rivalry game for the Ducks, and it's the lowly kings. Leafs need to get off the schnide and into playoff form. It's like playoff hockey for us. Every night is important.

And half of our fanbase still wants to give him a blank check.
Not I. EK would be the WORST decision this team would have made since......okay, just choose your favorite. Many to choose from. And I am only down on Panarin, IF we try and retrieve Hayes (they would be magic together) and keep Kreider.
I don't think ANY of the above will happen though. Maybe Hayes.

I don't like the way TB matches up against the Caps should that happen again but I actually think G isn't part of the problem there. He'll hurt them more if they play a fast team like Toronto.
