So if TML and Canes are done talking can we do something with Hayes and Canes..... 1st and Fox?

Big trade for the Leafs showing the you know what to try to improve their defense. Boston you're up now. Do we need anything Boston has??? I mean besides their first?

Pittsburgh just is not that good. Wow. Their defense is freaking brutal. Maybe the worst of the contending teams in the East.

Jets losing to Philly is a shocker.

It does help the tank

And yet they are still gonna have to be buyers because they have to be all in with Sid and Gino but I agree their d is horrible. Travis Zajac looks like Jagr in his prime when he plays vs the Pens. Its incredible.
Great night on the scoreboard. was hoping that one of the Flyers or Devils would win. Nice to see them both win. Neither of these teams deserve a top 5 pick.

Brendan Lemieux would be a nice piece coming back in a return for Hayes.

Winnipeg 1st + Lemieux + Prospect
Is Lemieux at the very least gonna be an effective 3rd/4th line nhl player? He would have to be because that Jets pick will probably be between 24-30

I’d say Lemieux projects as a 3rd line NHL winger who is a PIA to play against. Probably 15g, 30-35p is reasonable for him.

My thoughts exactly.

Some nights recently he's arguably been their best forward while others have slumped.

Lemieux, Virtanen, and a 1st?

Lindbom was a stupid pick, and Wilde is a guy I absolutely would have preferred, but this article is jumping the gun in a huge way.

why ? i think the article is legit. isles did well grabbing wilde as a faller in round 2.

wilde is looking like hes the real deal. 6'3 195 doesn't get much better than that as far as numbers go and he can really skate. kids made the jump to major junior. i think it was a good move for him tbh.

to have dobson and wilde both ? pretty solid imo.

and we have lindbom and shesty and georgie. i cant believe we drafted lindbom. i just cant.

i like the isles slightly better there.... plus bode wilde is a badass cool name so theres that.

It's jumping the gun in declaring him THE steal of the draft. There are dozens of other guys having great seasons that in three or four years could be THE steal of the draft. It's just silly to make those types of declarations so early on in the development cycle. So much can happen with so many guys. Other guys could take huge jumps. Guys that are currently looking fantastic can disappear. Wilde is great and I wish we drafted him, but to say he's the draft's biggest steal not even a full year later is absurd. Like, let's wait until some of these guys start making the NHL.

K'Andre looks like he could be a huge steal, even factoring in the trade. But until he does something at the NHL level, he's just a guy who looks like a really smart pick. Same for Wilde and a boatload of other guys.

That article was awful, and kind of ignores many of the flaws in Wilde's game that still very much exist at present time.

As for Linbom, we'll have to wait and see.

He wouldn't have been my pick, but I think there's still a lot unknowns when it comes to judging him at this time.

As for Dobson, even accounting for a bad team, I've been disappointed with his season.

moving past the idiotic "steal of the draft comment" which is dumb, we moved up for miller. i like miller. ive said so, i think hes gonna be a gem and i think his upside is enormous, but we paid a price to move up. im ok with that but the isles did well last draft.

we then used (wasted) a 2nd grabbing lindbom at 39 OA !! WTF ? seriously. that pick that has been universally made fun of- and for good reason. beyond dumb.

the piles grab the falling wilde at 41. dont burn a pick and end up with both dobson and wilde.

how anyone can say, well, lets wait and see on lindbom. what ? see what ? bad pick at 39 period. end of that story. another example off this scouting staff being smarter than everyone else.

who drafts a goalie at 39OA ? i mean, that is a REACH. wasted pick. unless shestys leg is going to fall off, i dont see the point of that pick at all. bode wilde at 41OA vs. lindbom at 39OA ?

like waiting to see if mcilrath was bad, even if he wasnt a total bust-he was, that was a bad pick of THAT player at 10OA. nothing to wait and see about. bad.

What fascinates me is how nobody seems to think twice about why a player is falling. What made 20 teams pass on Wilde, compared to where he was ranked (Since people consider rankings as gospel)?

fair enough. fallers are risks and you bake that into the cake so to speak, but at 42 i find that good value.

as for taking lindbom at 39OA, if memory serves me, i think he was rated the 3rd best euro goalie overall. he was brutal in his draft season in sweden sub .900 i think. kid had a good u18 tourny winning bronze and we draft him . same old same old. but beny was happy..... ??? other than 30, what has beny done with our other kid net minders ?

again, you can make what you want of it but wilde at 41OA is a good play and good value while lindbom at 39OA seems to be both a reach and a poor choice and certainly not BPA. but what do i know ?

that article is weak but the premise is sound. the piles did well with wilde at 41OA and when i look at our 39OA pick i wince and shake my head yet again.

I want to preface this with, I haven't watched Wilde play all that much. That said, that article was complete horsecrap. It read like it was written by a teenage fanboy, I bet his original draft had hearts all over it.
