In terms of goaltenders drafted since 2000, Lundqvist has utterly lapped the field. I don't think you can look at the statistics this generation and tell me he's not a generational goaltender.

Drop him into the 90's with Hasek, Brodeur, and Roy, and he becomes just another guy.

That is a pretty fair assessment . However if you live anywhere near a Canadian TV screen all you ever hear in Canada is Carey Price ,Carey Price , Carey Price....it does tend to get sickening after a few years . It is not even close IMO with the King's numbers and health and games played .

I know what you mean. Watch TSN TV for five minutes and it's all "Carey Price blah blah blah", the most overrated goaltender in Canada. As much as I'm not a Hank boot licker, I say Price is way overrated and Hank has forgotten things that Price doesn't even know yet. I don't even think he's had a season where he didn't get injured. The guy is fragile. That they paid him that much money is a total joke and one of the stupidest moves in all of hockey history.

Carey Price isn't the best goaltender in Eastern Canada.

I heard that if you say "Carey Price is overrated" three times while looking in the mirror, French Canadians will flood our message board and ask, "what has queen lundpads ever won?" Then kreider will get goalie interference for skating behind the net and we will be subjected to a zepruter film break down of Emilin clearly not tripping kreider. Back and to the left, back and to the left. The stick flex is a government conspiracy.

Kreider, Stepan, McDonagh, Gaborik, Nash, etc. were all in the 4th category when they were here.

I think prime Graves could be considered elite for his role. Admittedly, prime Graves didn't last very long.

Thankfully the Leafs are gonna spend themselves out of money because their forward group looks great....their D not so much.

Price had 2 good season then 2 elite seasons and the rest of his career is league average or below. He’s just another good goalie with a typical career arc, average most of his career with a great peak, yet the Canadian media anointed him Jesus before he even had his elite seasons. Then he won gold behind the most stacked team of all time facing 17 shots a game and apparently it cemented him as a legend. The Hockey News had him in their top 100 player seasons of all time, a list that didn’t include Hank or Luongo for that matter. Funny how Luongo doesn’t get the same reverence from Canadian media that Price does.

Price is closer in his career to being Jose Theodore than he is as good as Lundqvist but Canadian media thinks he’s a generational goalie.

They need to go out and get a solid dman (RHD) otherwise they probably have less than a 50 percent chance of winning round 1 against the Bruins.
 
It took a funny bounce off of a skate to get a win today or we would be tied for 4th worst already points wise.

We still have 5 teams behind us within 2 points or less.

I agree Flyers and Senators are lost causes. Blues, Panthers, Devils, Wings & Kings are passing us and teams ahead will pull further away. I would like most of the teams to get clustered together in striking distance of the playoffs to encourage more buyers then sellers.

What happens when your #2 pick is essentially a bust from two years ago.

He could turn it around but damn.

Elliot also had decent numbers before he got hurt. They have 2 other goalies hurt lol. Hell they had to go to the waiver wire to find a back up goalie to Hart.

The Flyers havent been able to solve their goalie issues since Hextall. Talking about 20 years.

And there were serious concerns about Nolan Patrick. His injuries were not really helping him and he was described as a man of glass. He's very cautious when playing. Almost shying away from puck battles at times. NJD made the right call to go with Hischier over Patrick (still should have gone with EP)
 
This is why Hextall refused to spend assets to improve now. And Fletcher just made his first trade as GM. He must not be convinced either. It's going to turn out they fired a good GM because he fired some scouts.
 
Philly somehow fell face forward into a lottery pick two years ago and now this year they’ll get another lottery player.

And they were widely regarded to have like one of the top 3 prospect pools in the league.

Their management is incompetent
