FWIW Nash was a rental and the Rangers needed to move and get something back for him. Nash didn't want to go and brought up his son as a reason for wanting to stay. Without that trade though there's no K'Andre Miller--or even Ryan Lindgren. Sometimes people don't always frame things all that well but I had no issue at all with our moving him and Nash's production had taken a serious nosedive for us.
It's the same thing kind of going on with Zucc this year. He doesn't want to be traded either but the Rangers need to do it. It's normal to the life of an NHL player that you will be traded sooner or later and he will have to accept it. Would not be surprised though if Zucc goes back to Europe after this season.
Anyway good luck to Nash. I think a lot of us suspected he had concussion issues and IMO when it gets to the point that you're concerned about your mental health from blows to the head it's time to leave and a smart thing to retire.

That sucks! Hope he recovers from it. He had a tremendous career, despite not hoisting the holy grail. Pretty certain there would be a retirement position somewhere in the game for him. Coaching, player development or whatnot...If he even chooses to do that.
