Maybe even more astonishing is that the greatest-scorer-ever-why-did-the-rangers-let-him-go PA Parenteu led Avalanche offense is last in the league.

I would agree with that assessment and while I didn't watch Lindros when he was playing, I'm sure he was a smart hockey player and had a greater variety to his game.

Some would say his own intelligence level is part of the reason he had health issues (not keeping your head up crossing the blueline with the puck)

Compare that to our 4 new guys:

Zuccarello, Clowe, Brassard and Moore since the trade deadline, combined are

12-4-7-11, +/- is 4


Brassard: 3-1-3-4, -1
Moore: 3-1-1-2, 0
Zuccarello: 3-0-1-1, 2
Clowe: 3-2-2-4, 3

Small sample size. Especially considering most of that production came in one game. It explains why we're looking as good as we are recently, but it's not a predictor of the future.

That being said, I didn't think the trades Pitts made made them significantly better at all.

As much as I hate the Penguins I think they will be very dangerous in the Playoffs if MAF can find his form like he did the other night . The guys they added in Morrow and Iginla will be be very valuable over a 7 game series . JJ is awesome on the draws and Murray looked much better in the last game versus the first against us . Even with all that and add Crosby into the mix...I still think with a decent PP and some consistent forechecking...we can win the East if we stay healthy ....injuries will kill us .

We can beat Montreal...right now that is just a mind thing . Somebody has to take the bull by the horns against that team or hypnotize our team into thinking that they are all actually Flyer players in Hab sweaters . Torts also has to alter the defensive procedure a bit against them...they have too much firepower to let them shoot freely while we try and block shots...we have to have guys like Cally stay on top of the point shots .

Montreal doesn't scare me at all. They're a relatively small team and so many of those players are kids who have never been through the playoff battles.

Rangers just have to get dirty and bully them. I'm not talking like mid 70s Flyers but to use their size and toughness to their advantage, and make life miserable for Price, and get physical with a lot of those rookies.

The Rangers once played the Kings in the playoffs where the Kings were a much higher seed and probably had more skill, but the Rangers beat them up and took over that series.

Still a lot of work to do but if they do play Montreal, so be it.

We haven't won there since 2009. We haven't scored a goal there in a year. We make the playoffs and have to play Montreal it's game over.

Hopefully, they will be overconfident. Have to play physical which we are now capable of doing.

Brodeur's thigh rises are looking extra big these days. Looks like he increased his leg pad size substantially by what he's wearing in warm ups.

Please let the Cats win in regulation. I think we may have a chance at snagging #6 from Ottawa.

The Habs have had ZERO adversity this year. A few minor injuries and no losing streaks. Everything has been easy and things have really gone their way.
For us to beat them, we need to forecheck/cycle in their end, and make life miserable for their D, especially Markov and his bad knees. Most importantly, we need to score the first goal on them.

It was a response to someone who was judging the new Penguins acquisitions based on the games since the trade deadline. I know it doesn't mean anything, but it's nice to have a good start in the Rangers uniform. Stepan started with a hattrick, Brassard with 4 points. It just makes the transition a lot easier.
