I'm confident enough against any of those teams other than Montreal LOL.

We match up well against Boston and they actually struggle to beat us.

Ooooo Ott just scored. :)

I wouldn't have listed Boston, because Gaborik absolutely carved them up. Now, I'd give them the benefit of the doubt.

I think the Rangers are ****ed with whatever 1rst round matchup they get.

8th seed - Get knocked out by the Pens, who we struggle against
7th seed - We'll never win in Montreal again, automatic series loss.
6th seed - Playing against Caps team that have been red hot. GOATvechkin is playing in his Hart Trophy form and has lit us up in the playoffs for many years
5th seed - Boston too big and strong for us.

Crosby injured and Malkin doesn't look 100%.
Boston doesn't have Bergeron, for them that's like Pittsburgh losing crosby (almost at that level).
Montreal is playing above their heads, no sure thing they can continue playing like this in the playoffs.
Washington, we can beat and have beaten in the playoffs.

It's not nearly as bad as you're making it out to be.

This.

I'd take our chances against any of the higher seeded teams right now.

Gabby may not be here but Hank still owns Boston. Without Crosby i'm not worried about Pitt. We can absolutely take Washington and maybe Clowe brings some anti-curse with him from the west coast against MTL.

If they continue to play like they have in the last three games I'll take anybody and feel confident. Yes... even Les' Habs.

playoff hockey is different enough for all things to not matter. We were this close to beating the caps to grab a 2-2 series 2 years ago. We blew a lead heading into the 3rd after not blowing a lead in 82 games when leading into the 3rd two years ago. All of that within one game. Playoff hockey is where the spirit of players and the fire of competition and the echoing of the heart and soul are meant to break curses and all the expectation and disappointments of the past.

Having that said, I hope we don't play Montreal :sarcasm:

Pitts will get all three Crosby Letang Martin in time for the playoffs. We are already done before the series started if the first two are playing.

Boston without Bergeron imo is our best hope to draw an opponent. That's their team's best player and I think he's still listed as out indefinitely.

Washington beat us a few weeks ago and have Ovechkin playing in Hart Trophy form. When he's at that level, the Rangers never got past him. Last year may have been an anomaly because it was by far the worst season of his career.

Montreal, they're simply a better roster on forward and defense. They have elite offensive talent Alex Galchenyuk and Brendan Gallagher on the 3rd line. Subban is winning the Norris and Price can match Hank.

Tossup with Pittsburgh. I'm going to hold judgement until I see how their injury scenario plays out.

Washington can be beaten. We did it last season, we've gotten close when they clearly had a superior team. Ovechkin seems more prone to streaky player rather than rounding into form. That discussion has been had at least 100 times over the past two seasons.

Montreal I want to avoid because we just suck against them.

Pitts will have a not fully into form Crosby and Letang back in time for the playoffs.

Boston is beatable.

Ovechkin is playing great, but we beat them earlier in the season and if we play like we have the last 3-4 games we're the better group.

Montreal does not have a better defensive group as a whole when Staal gets back. Galchenyuk and Gallagher are good, but so are our guys. Price CAN match Hank, sure...but Hank is the better goaltender.

The key concept in that is that Price has to match Hank and not the other way around.

If Staal is back for the playoffs I'm much more confident in the team.

If Flower shows the same mental fortitude in the post season as he did last year, then I also like our chances.

I think we could play the Toronto Marlies and Kershaw would tell us why we have no chance of winning...

Safe to say if goalies play like themselves, we have the better goaltender. So long as they don't become possessed by Hasek or Henrik for that matter.
