Wasn't Neely one of those pushing to trade Seguin? Let's also not forget how there media treated him after being being traded. Then of course he was boo'd in his return to Boston.

Idk, I just don't see Seguin coming back to Boston with how everything unfolded.
I'm with you. I'd think the chances would be basically zero. And that is IF he leaves Dallas which at this point is not even in play.

This particular part of the thread is a train that needs to slow it's roll significantly, IMO.

I’ll be pretty surprised if Dallas doesn’t re-sign him. If it doesn’t work out I’ll be ****ing floored if he came back here after the way he left.

Great fantasy hockey player, not so much carrying a playoff team
uh he has played in 7 playoff games in Dallas. Kinda hard to prove himself on a "big stage" when he's never on a team good enough to make the playoffs or go deep.

He is unquestionably one of the best players in the world so it's not like he's the problem with that team.

Always an excuse for seguin, things never change.

I will try not to make this about the particular player in question... but this whole 'hes the best player on a crappy team so hes not the reason they are crappy' argument...

I will answer... theres always a best player on every team. when your best player is better than the other teams best player... you gain an advantage. when your worst player is better than the other teams worst player... you gain an advantage

hockey is a series of fluid matchups. you hope your team doesn't have a breakdown where the other team capitalizes. and you hope your team can break through the other teams defense to get enough goals to win

most teams are reliant on looking at their best players to rise to the occasion and score the goals that are needed to win the close games because theres a lot of parity between most teams

you can get by on lucky breaks up to a certain point... but they often balance. defense is easier to coach than offense to most of the lineup. so its really the very skilled guys that are necessary to tilt the results and raise your team from suck to not suck

if your best players lose their matchups... your team has no chance of ever getting a sniff of the playoffs

you cant say a best player plays on one non playoff team after another... without eventually being forced to point the finger at them and say they aren't getting the job done of winning their matchups

I can remember Darryl Ederstrand missing an open net in the playoffs in the 70's. I believe that was in a game 7 loss as well. It was a blast from the point with the goalie out. I remember when Wesley missed that shot, all I could think of was Ederstrand missed opportunity.:(
Marchand in game 4 overtime vs Chicago has 2/3 open net from about 15 feet and missed wide- I was sitting right there and he had enough time to look and pick his spot. Seabrooke scored soon after.

Marchand had enough time for me to be able to think ‘this is it’

Daugevins and that it’s a sweep but that’s the way it goes both ways

Hamilton got it pretty bad from the Media too.
and deserved it, perfect example of all the tools but no tool box, aka heart, desire, compete level, grit, all those silly intangibles that if they didn't matter like many analytic people believe Hamilton would be a superstar instead of a Alex Semin on D.

Does Alexander Semin know how big a fan you are of his game?
