would love him back in Boston.:thumbu:

he seems to have matured somewhat or at least stays off twitter more than he used to... guy obviously reeks raw talent. Would I give him 10 mill a year to come back and team with pastrnak and McAvoy to be our franchise players going forward?

Might surprise some here... but yes I would

Those Bergeron/Marchand contracts are so amazing you could fit them behind the big 3

would need to move krecji and backes but to fit seguin that's a no brainer. both krecji and backes ntc modify next year so this is something we could debate. It was Chiarelli that moved Seguin so who knows... could neely be a fan? And obviously it seems Seguin had some friends and enjoyed the party life in Boston according to the rumors. This might not be so crazy

Pastrnak/Seguin/Debrusk
Bjork/Bergeron/Marchand
Heinen/Studnicka/Donato

I bet a lot of readers of this top 9 just got pretty excited. Let seguin get to ufa… trading for him would weaken us too much. If he hits ufa go hard and bring him home

I don't know, they got almost 13 million coming off the books in Methot and Spezza next summer. They were in on Tavares, they have been rumored to be in on Karlsson. Doesn't strike me as a team about to trade it's best center in the prime of his career.

wonder if they'll test the market though seeing the package they could get for him

The behind the B show when they dealt him you could tell Sweeney didn’t want to trade him. His own words right after he was hired as GM in an interview saying it was a mistake trading him in somewhat nicer words. If he goes to free agency in July I could see them being top players for him. He seems to of matured some and he doesn’t need to be sold on the city. At least I don’t think he needs to.

They are also very shallow offensively. Take away Seguin and they might as well rebuild.

if dallas misses the playoffs again this year how much longer will jim nill have a job? 4 missed playoffs in 5 years usually doesn't allow a 61 year old GM to keep his job. Will a new GM feel like he needs a rebuild? Will Seguin be keen to stick around with a rebuilding team?

Obviously I don't know this will happen... but simply saying they have cap room doesn't guarantee that they will be a destination of choice for anyone. Dallas hasn't really shown they are the destination of choice for anyone since the days of brad Richards and before him... bill Guerin... and one might argue that they got both those guys to sign by paying ridiculous obscene contracts.

playing with Jamie benn and having klingberg feeding him the puck is probably attractive but we have pastrnak/krug or McAvoy... not so bad either

does seguin want to play in obscurity in a southern market where he can probably go to the clubs without being recognized? or is this the type of guy that does love a bit of celebrity?

I am feeling my spider sense tingling... I expect seguin wont resign in dallas… and going public like this feels like the first shot in a pr move.

That was a painful episode.

Wasn't Neely one of those pushing to trade Seguin? Let's also not forget how there media treated him after being being traded. Then of course he was boo'd in his return to Boston.

Idk, I just don't see Seguin coming back to Boston with how everything unfolded.

Wonder if Seguin will go to Toronto like Tavares to make a superteam

After how Seguin was treated on his way out Seguin wouldn’t come back here....Would I love to have him back? Hell yes who wouldn’t. Didn’t want him to moved to begin with.

I can see Seguin leaving Dallas but they’d be morons to let him walk. With Benn and Klinberg they have solid pieces but like posted above if they’d miss the playoffs again they’re in trouble. Those 3 pieces are basically all Dallas has for their future.

Lucic was sad to see go but was the right time. He isn’t the same player he once was and the league has changed. Too slow.

I wonder what would have happened if they had shipped out Marchand instead of Seguin.
