Hahahaha.

Okay, I'll admit it, I LOVE Gritty. He makes me laugh.

If any of you are SciFi/Fantasy fans (or just like hilarious Twitter sh*tposting), check out the thread below from Chuck Wendig's account last night – I laughed out loud multiple times.

Warning: while it's not over the top, the language is mildly NSFW.

This is comedy gold. Thanks for the recommendation.

Oh god. That was incredible.

This is the story on the origins of Gritty making it's way through Flyers social media: allegedly the league is pressuring every team to come up with a mascot, and the Flyers responded by coming up with what they thought was the most awful idea possible as a giant f*** you to the league. What they didn't foresee was Gritty becoming a pop culture phenomenon the likes that the league has never seen.

Montreal is going to have a top line of Tatar-Danault-Gallagher and it is going to be one of the best in the league. I'm about to go as far as saying Brendan Gallagher is a top-10 5v5 RW in the league, he can carry basically any line all by himself.

This is your heat map on Brendan Gallagher:

That's their top line? What happened to domi and drouin?

How is it that the bum ass, relocation bound Hurricanes get a third jersey, and the throwback Whalers, but the Ranger get nada

Tolvanen assigned to the AHL. That should surprise a lot of people

Not terribly.

In the wave of news about the league getting younger, it's almost easy to forget just how young some of the talents we're talking about actually are.

Whether it's Chytil, or Andersson, or Mittelstadt, or Tolvanen, there's still a pretty long road ahead.

But the current landscape of getting younger is almost like heroin for this niche portion of fandom that focuses on prospects and emerging talent. There's a hell of a high, but there's the big come down.

True.

Nashville is pretty stacked up front too.

Dude has no business playing this year in the OHL. Three goals and 7 shots halfway through the game. I'd say he's gonna score 60, easy, but this might be the year Canada finally brings him to the WJC.

I don’t know if I would call it a phenomenon. It’s getting a lot of play but most of it hasn’t been very good. I heard the reaction from Flyer fans has been pretty bad.
