If the Devils are great in the shootout Ranger fans gripe, if they suck in the shootout Ranger fans gripe. Get over it, these are the rules of the game for the past several years for every team. No one likes this system, but it is what it is. And Devils have earned their points. They've lost only one game in OT and won one. All the other losses came during some shooting competition. Face it, we're not as bad as many hoped.

No, they're still bad. They're 8-13. Most of us just didn't count on the division being so terrible.

Darn, lucky for the Rangers that the division is terrible! Oh, what's their record against the Devils again.

The Devils may stink, but what's that make the Rangers?

IMO, they're underachieving. We'll see the outcome at the end of the year. If the Debbies are a good team come game 82, whatever. It is what it is. I just don't think they hold up, and I do think the Rangers will improve with a healthy roster.

Let's not forget that we're only a quarter of the way through the season. Little early to come in here and gloat.

Man, we got 60 games left and we got Devils fans who can't wait to say they were right.

It never stops with that fan base. Will the Devils EVER make a bad move? Will Lou ever make a bad decision? HAVE the Devils EVER made a decision that is questionable?

You wouldn't think so when you talk to a Devils fan.

the devils have kept it tied at the end of the 3rd period and lost in the shootout a couple times to some great players making some great moves.
At the end of the day devils fans have to put some stock into that and not consider the team to be garbage because of it.

Just as the rangers are pulling themselves out of an early slump, the devils seem to be doing the same.
I understand the hatred for the rival and everything but how many times does NJ get counted out only to come back and bite everyone in the ass time and time again.

You have to respect that, just as a pure fan of the game.
Edit: Rangers have my respect no doubt though. Their is a very solid foundation there and they will be in the mix come april.

The Devils have the oldest roster in the league and have missed the playoffs 2 of the past 3 years. They are clearly on the down-slope. Plugs like Clowe, Brunner, Ryder and Jagr are not long term solutions. Lou is just trying to save face and not be a lottery team after not doing what any other sane GM would have done and give up the 29th pick in the draft.

They're gonna need a rebuild sooner or later. In terms of prospects they have a solid pool of d-men but almost no forwards. Schneider ditching them next year would be the icing on the cake.

Shall we could the number of Lund pad comments on the Devils board? Get over it. You come here, expect there to be something about other teams to be negative. An 8-13 team is not good. Sorry. Cannot defend that. Haven't been over .500 all season. Small sample but based on last and this season, not a good team

Didn't Jagr have a crazy start last season?

Not crazy, but he was playing very well for Dallas. He was pretty terrible for Boston, though, down the stretch. and especially in the playoffs. And that was the tail end of a 48 game season. I can't even imagine how bad he'd look in the playoffs after an 82 gamer.

Just a fyi, Jagr played 101 games last year between the czech league, dallas, boston, and playoffs. This myth that he just died after 40 games is irritating.

Devils werent supposed to compete for a playoff spot. They lost their best player to "retirement" two weeks after free agency started. Rangers and Isles were projected to be playoff teams. Isles were supposed to take that next step, Rangers were supposed to be Cup contenders with a new coach. We're at the 1/4 poll and neither Rangers or Isles are doing well. Devils are playing above expectations but that may change as the year goes on.

That would imply that NHLN is credible.

NFL Network is so much better than NHLN it's disgusting.
Yeah maybe so, cant say I knows how its works.

Howevery NFL as a product is maybe ahead of NHL. Signed up for NFL network and I love it.

When we played Boston I didn't realise Jagr was playing until like Game 4. Absolute no show.
