ICYMI, Tristan Jarry faced 41 SOG (to the Pens 17 shots for), and scored an ENG vs. Tampa last night in their 4-2 win. Not a Pens fan, per se, but always cool to see a goalie score.

Also, didn't Perry take a year off or some other long stint, a handful of years ago, for alcoholism treatment? It was someone from the Ducks / Sens, and it was pretty bad meaning it really had a grip on his life, not just his job / hockey career.
I think you're thinking of Bobby Ryan

Plus you have to look at the injuries to Hughes and Hischier playing huge roles in their poor start
Plus D & goaltending have been subpar, they miss Graves & Severson and the goalies havent stepped up, shocking. Seems like the state of goaltending around the league is kind of a mess outside of the studs and top teams.

With the emergence of Detroit and no way New Jersey stays where they are its gonna be 95 points to make the playoffs? What are people's thoughts?

Not saying we would make the playoffs in the western conference but Arizona and Vancouver improving is also about the teams in the west becoming worse.
Still impressive how they have turned things around.

I know some here have been keen on the idea of adding Nino as a UFA this summer. So much for that.

3 years, $4M AAV.

I hope that someone wasn't under the impression that any decent UFA would ever consider signing with Buffalo. Because it's a false premise.

It's sad that I envy Arizona's rebuild. Their GM has so many challenges on top of all of the challenges that all of the other teams have, and still manages to do a better job at building a roster than Adams; in the short, medium, AND long term. Buffalo is a joke because Pegula ensures that it stays that way.

a friend from Quebec tried to order in a cafe in Paris and the waiter ignored him and started talking English to him ;)
Its quite a different pronunciation, compared to regular French, no wonder given the distance
I was told by a French, ummm, acquaintance that they find the Qubecois accent comical, a relic of the 17th Century that didn't evolve the way the language did in the old country. Which makes sense.

Thoroughly enjoying watching the Pens and Flyers tonight.

Traditional rivalry. Playoff intensity. Everyone busting their asses all over the ice. Glorious scoring chances stymied by excellent defensive plays. Solid goaltending from both teams.

The way hockey should be. I'm jealous. We deserve better.

Cap going up 4.2.. more than I thought

This has been hinted at for a while and people were skeptical. I hope people can be more reasonable about the expected growth of the cap moving forward now that the pandemic shutdown overage repayments are over.
