No, it was No more than two years. He's clearly overpaid.

As the person who made the bet with you about Stafford's new deal, I don't remember how many years he got being the standard, rather it was how much a year.

I'm on my phone so I can't pull the posts, but your statements I believe were, he will be lucky to even stay in the league, maybe a million per.

Then I agreed to give you a ton of leeway on that statement and we bet on if he would get over under 3 million. I think it looks like I was right. I'm thinking an analytics avatar of some type.

I'd have no problem bringing back either Enroth or Neuvirth to challenge not just Johnson, but Lehner.

I don't see it. I see them signing an AHL goaltender to share the net with Makarov--and possibly Lieuwen, if healthy--but who can also have a cup of coffee in Buffalo if something happens to one of the goaltenders.

Looking at guys who fit that description, I wonder if Brad Thiessen or John Curry would be guys that Tim looks at. Both played in the Pens organization while Bylsma was there, too.

offer sheeting Saad for 4y/$16 just makes the Hawks job easier, they'll find a way to keep him on that deal.

theyre just playing hardball right now and dont want a deal that takes him to UFA.

Theoretically, sure (Lindback for a year?) but with the Lieuwen QO they've got five goalies under contract next year so it's not exactly a pressing matter.

Are either Lieuwen or Ullmark going to be ready for the start of the season, though? They very well might need another goalie in the organization. That said, I don't think it's a pressing concern and there will certainly be someone out there who can fit as a veteran backup/AHL goalie come training camp whether it be as a free agent, or from a team that has more goalies than places to play them.

Saad just isn't doable at the moment. There's no way to get it done without a sheet that includes a 1st because there are plenty of teams out there capable of offering that.

It's not an objection to Saad, but do we need another LW? As is, we're moving LW's over to RW (e.g., Ennis). We have one right-shooting winger (Gionta) if we play both Eichel and Reinhart at center. I'm not just not sure that spending our 2016 1st on another LW is the best allocation of resources.

i dont think we need to make any big moves in terms of trading core pieces or doing a high level offersheet.

fill in the gaps in UFA, possibly target lower level RFA

If the gaping LD hole remains for 12 months... no biggie.

Tarasenko is a righty..... not that we need another forward... but if u were confident you could fill the d hole in free agency... probably the sickest rebuild of a team in na sports history.

Why would you spend the money on anisimov's cap hit instead of putting it towards saad? Offer sheet threat?
