Habs are getting the true Jake Allen #1 goalie experience and their fans are NOT happy campers.

Very convenient of Bowman to wait to see how his team would start before resigning.

Also, hilariously sad that so far the only punishment is $2mil. The Devils were fined $3mil and forfeited a 1st and 3rd for the Kovalchuk contract.
It seems like the Coyotes were hit harder for just having extra combine testing on prospects

Some of this information should have been redacted to protect his identity. Like his age, for example. Or his size. One you know that he was Black Ace (which was probably necessary to the report) age and size paint bulls eye. It's not at all unusual for identifying information like this to be redacted in public release of information.
Again, John Doe conditioned his participation in the investigation on them not doing that. His attorney was very clear that he wouldn't participate unless it was guaranteed that public got the full report. They were concerned that the Hawks or NHL would over-redact to minimize the damage of the report. You mention that his size should have been redacted, but one of the more damning pieces of evidence against Hawks management is that they relied on his size to outright dismiss the possibility that a sexual encounter could have been non-consensual. His size was only included because it was referenced in a damning statement by a Hawks exec. It wasn't just a random biographical piece of info.

If Troy Brouwer was one of the players harassing John Doe in the Blackhawks lawsuit, he needs to be relieved of his pro scout duties immediately.

No dice. If he wanted his identity known he would come forward. They should have done better job obscuring those details.

From Dom: "Alex Pietrangelo is not in a new locale anymore, but he was the biggest fish on the defensive market to change places last season and he is off to a wretched start to the 2021-22 season. No points in six games, outscored 7-2 and an ugly 39 percent expected goals rate. His average Game Score for the year is minus-1.1, the third-worst of any player to play more than three games this season. Vegas better hope it’s just a rough patch and not a sign of things to come for the 31-year-old defender. His struggles are a big reason the team is in a 2-4-0 hole to start the season."

Last season Pietro was hands down Vegas best player. Vegas underperformed last year.

I think there is more than just it's Pietro's fault team doesn't score.

I still view if you want to suck, suck now rather at spring. These first games doesn't mean ape shit.

But after 25 games and you suck you need to underline who suck and who don't. It's 82 games regular season.

76 games left.

Hockey is a very chaotic and random sport... it's important not to base too much on such a small sample size... if Petro had a bad 5 games in the middle of December, no one would notice, but when it's the first 5, it feels like a big deal... he'll be fine.

In the Blues game, it felt like either Tarasenko or Pietro would score the game winner. Until his turnover that lead to a goal, he was playing pretty well and looking dangerous. I’d be surprised if his doesn’t rebound.

I've watched most of Vegas's games so far and most of the time he looks downright awful except for the Blues game, He played pretty well there and looked like the Blues Petro that we know. I would be surprised if he doesn't rebound.

Holy shit... What have you done with the real @Ranksu? This is the first time I can recall seeing you preach the cautious patience perspective instead of the alarmist, sky is falling opinion!

I like it! Please show this side of yourself more, because it generates meaningful discussion and less negative circular rhetoric.

Vegas missing its top scorers in Pacioretty and Stone definitely hurts their offence, given how Vegas has constantly traded futures and young assets to chase a cup... But, I'm curious about what other factors you think are contributing to Petro's underwhelming start - because you're right, he's going to rebound, he's too talented to be an anchor at 31.

Petro was always terrific in the playoffs and a huge, positive difference maker. However, he's always been prone to spells where he just looks unengaged and a step behind the play which can last for a substantial chunk of the season. Now is the time for the rest of the West to bury the Knights in the standings. Take them out to the desert and leave them for dead, circa Vegas 1971.

Well, looks like it's moot point. He is going on TSN this evening for interview. He apparently wants to reveal himself and his truth.

I don't disagree with your main point here, especially when talking about individual players (or Pietrangelo, specifically). But if you're talking about teams, every point matters for every team that's not a powerhouse. Teams only have around a 20% chance to make the playoffs if they're out of playoff position at USA's Thanksgiving. That's closer to 20 games for most teams this season. I don't actually know if this is true, but it seems like most coaching changes happen in the first couple weeks of December. The Blues have definitely made a few around that time.

So who's missing from the Avs tonight? They can't be losing with MacKinnon, Landy, Rantanen, and Makar in the lineup. At least that's what I keep being told.
nichushkin is still out with an upper body injury
d. toews still out post-shoulder surgery in the offseason
girard was famously hurt on a hit by stamkos and not punished despite the very loud cries of Avs fans

some line up regulars, particularly on defense, where they've looked particularly inept so far

It's here. I actually replied in the thread (thereby returning to the board) because there is a prevailing narrative that the Blues were lucky to have won the Cup and thus represent a particularly weak winner in recent years. This is not true, they won the most regular season games in the West in the 2010s. That is absolutely not some one-off.

If I could change one other widely-held perception about that run, it's that the entire Game 5 narrative about the Blues getting away with a trip is false. The Bruins got away with an identical play in the same period of the same game in exactly the same spot of the Blues zone exactly 10:00 of game action earlier at the 30 second mark of the third period. Marchand trips Parayko and turns a clearing attempt into a scoring chance. Anyone who has ESPN+ can go watch it right now to check, those games are still all on demand. I think even Blues fans have falsely internalized they got a lucky call in Game 5. Absolutely not. They got even stevens in Game 5 and they were just better for having capitalized on equal conditions, the end.

By the way the Game 7 French broadcast is so well produced, it is a must watch.

Kyle Beach (John Doe in Blackhawks case) interview is up on tsn.ca for anyone that wants to watch it.
It doesn't relate to the case in any way but an interesting little Blues fact, is the Blues drafted his younger brother Cody Beach in 2010.

Regarding Kyle specifically, it is shameful what happened to him and his bravery to come forward not only with the allegations, but to come forward publicly is to be admired. Hopefully the rest of the NHL and hockey community can give him the help and comfort surrounding this and help right the wrongs he was subjected to.
