Throw in that although I have always liked Zuccarelo he hasn’t broken 40 points since 2018 and this season playing with the thrill he goes off for 79 points in 70 AYFKM playing with The Thrill and Hartman. I mean how good does a player have to be to Elevate that twosome to that level.

He may well prove to be better than Comrie eventually, but what about last season too?

Whatever coach was making the decisions, Hellebuyck should have been played a lot less and Comrie a lot more. The expectations for each goalie should not have been written in stone on opening day. They should have adjusted as the season wore on.

Comrie has barely ever been played up until this season and even then it wasn’t much. Georgiev has proven in multiple seasons to be a solid backup. Comrie having a handful of good games in one season doesn’t mean much at all. We all saw how LB had a good year followed by a bad one. Comrie could just as easily come back next year like that. Backups are backups because of their inconsistency. If they weren’t they’d be starters.

1. Georgiev has had worse numbers each year. That's a bad sign in my book.
2. It doesn't matter what Comrie did, or didn't do in past seasons.
3. In both cases, it matters what they are doing this year. Comrie was a lot better than Georgiev this year. It showed right from his 1st start. After some number, 3-4-5 strong starts in a row, it might occur to the coach to use him a little more and see what happens. Especially since Helle's performance was less than spectacular.
4. We aren't talking about next year, or any other year. We are talking about Helle playing 10-15 games too many this year.
5. They might completely reverse next year. That's a different subject.

I've said it for a while the Rangers are the Jets of the two prior years but we atleast were able to blank the McJesus Oilers last year while NYR look to be getting the boot.

Looks like Florida also survived tonight.
