gonna be hard for improvements when they 12.7 in deadcap next year and 14.7 the following 2 years
with an unsigned fiala
think they can get better goaltending. they were riding average goaltending for most of the year. if Wallstedt is all that he is made out to be then that'll likely be a bump up in net. perhaps not next year as he is still only 20 though.

then consider having Boldy to start the year, as well as perhaps Rossi. if they do end up trading fiala they'll get a good package for him. no doubt there's cap gymnastics they'll have to do though. from what i gathered from wild fans, dumba might be the one dealt w/ 1x6m left before UFA.

Not sure where the Rangers go from here if they lose, that roster esp the D looks pretty solid on paper but the results just aren't there. Moving Trouba for a couple of depth 4 million level forwards who can help with the team defense might be the direction I'd consider. Not sure if in the modern NHL you can have 2 d-men making ~18 million and taking up 21% of your total cap unless they are both Makar level talents. Not sure if Trouba would be amenable to a move though.

I mean if that team had a hot clue how to develop forward prospects they'd be pretty scary.

Kakko and Lafrenier are back to back top 2 picks and both are just OK third line caliber players at this point.

They've buster on other top 10 forward picks recently Kravstov and Andersen.

Similarly, if they didn't have the allure of being the Rangers, they'd be about as successful (on the ice) as the Coyotes. Their two best players, sans Shesterkin (who has crumbled this playoffs like one of grandma's oatmeal and raisin cookies anyway), went there just based on location.

Yeah their draft results have been pretty shocking. Almost like some kind of cosmic justice to make up for them getting all the good free agents.

Fantastic start by the Leafs, keep it up.

Just goes to show this is hardly a Winnipeg only organizational issue.

Let's hope that TNSE does likewise and cleans it out.
It's just an organizational issue, and happens everywhere no matter how good the work place is. Impossible to get many different personality types to get along perfectly, moreso when egos are big like in professional sports.

LOL Buff was American, Connor is American. This is pretty ridiculous.
Good ol' epitome of locker room cohesion, Evander Kane, is Canadian.

Hell, right now, the rumored issues in the locker room is a Canadian and an American. Before that we had a Finn.

Clearly the solution is to draft more Swedes. Ignore the Karlsson-Hoffman debacle.
