Watching the Wild vs Blues. Used to hate watching MIN play, mostly because Boudreau's system is like watching paint dry for me and also because I didnt care for some of their players. But right now they are fun to watch and I like that they have heavy toughness like Greenway, Foligno, and D-Lo that can keep an opponent on their heals and honest. Also really like Fleury so hard not to like who he plays for.
kaprizov and fiala were big infusions of skill.
this team was top-5 in GF, and only 3 less GF than the Avs.

What makes you think Georgiev is better than Comrie?
Georgiev - .898
Comrie - .920
That's a big difference in favour of Comrie.

Geo was highly touted a few years ago, but his performance deteriorates each year.

Yes, this season Comrie had a better year. The sample size is pretty small. At the start of the year everyone here would've said Georgiev was better and a coach would've felt the same I believe.

The Wild get a lot of their offense from their backend, the defense seems to constantly be supporting and driving the play. Reminds me of the successful Nashville teams that Evason was an assistant on.

Talent wise the Wild are hardly stacked. Centres are not strong, but the wingers have the freedom to roam around the high ice in the offensive zone, with the d attacking.

Their PP seems worse than the Jets.

I watched that game today, and you'd think with Krug, Leddy, Bortuzzo out for the Blues that the Wild would have had more push, but they were not very aggressive until they got down 2 goals.

I'd like to see Fleury win this series. It's looking like a 7 gamer.

Kaprizov is a franchise altering talent and they picked him the 5th round. I love watching him play. First full season and he puts the Wild on his back and gets 108 points this year

Source?

Or is this another one of those "everybody says it" things?
For being a Leafs fan? Or hating the Jets?

Pretty safe to assume he’s a Leafs fan, being from Toronto and on record as saying his favourite player growing up was Salming.

I don’t think he hates the Jets though. That’s a bit silly.

Turned Ryan Hartman into a 30+ goal scorer.

There is no more powerful endorsement for his superpowers than that. Throw in that although I have always liked Zuccarelo he hasn’t broken 40 points since 2018 and this season playing with the thrill he goes off for 79 points in 70 AYFKM playing with The Thrill and Hartman. I mean how good does a player have to be to Elevate that twosome to that level.

If the Leafs lose this series this board will be burnt to the crisp, nothing will be left.;)

They will build memorials for the current Leafs roster when they are eliminated in the 1st round. The plaque would say “Tampa didn’t beat us, we did it to ourselves”

Every fan base does this. All the PGTs here after the Jets lose are about how bad the Jets were.

Both teams have had a bad game this series. Game 5 is must see TV.

Watching the Oilers-Kings. Oilers get away with 2 penalties while already on the PK and Singh and DeBrusk say nothing about it.

Yes it is a small sample for Comrie.

We are not at the beginning of the year any more. There was no excuse for coaches to continue to overwork Helle after Comrie had shown so well. Maybe if he had been used more, Comrie would have tapered off. OTOH, maybe Helle would have played better.

Georgiev has gotten worse each year over year. He isn't better than Comrie anymore, at least not right now.

After what he did to the Jets in the Western Conference Final Fleury can pound sand and take his goofy gold equipment with him. Now if he was playing for the Jets that might be a different story.:naughty:

Craig Simpson desperately trying to convince himself of some positives for the Leafs as they’re getting clown pounded late in the 3rd was my favourite part of the weekend.
Gotta tow the company line and keep those Southern Ontario eye balls watching right to the bitter end.

If you were following the conversation thread, I replied to a post that said Gallant would've played Hellebuyck less and the Jets would be in the playoffs. I said it was doubtful he would've started him less because we had a backup with 2 career starts and in New York he has a backup who has played fairly well over his career. That's where the "better than Comrie" stuff started, and I still believe he is better than Comrie despite this season.

He may well prove to be better than Comrie eventually, but what about last season too?

Whatever coach was making the decisions, Hellebuyck should have been played a lot less and Comrie a lot more. The expectations for each goalie should not have been written in stone on opening day. They should have adjusted as the season wore on.
