Vancouver on a 3 game winning streak. 9 games left 4 points back... they have a game against Vegas and Dallas coming up.... not impossible, probably not going to make it, but exciting anyways to be part of the wild card race.

Who knew that winning games was important to stay in the race. Obviously the Jets didn't think so.

Go back to game #25 and ask how many people thought Vancouver at that time would end up finishing the season ahead of the Jets.
That's what happens when you fire a coach and bring in an experience winning NHL coach.

If only the lottery had gone had slightly different in 2016 and we got Matthews instead of Laine, I honestly think we would have the won the cup in 2018 or 2019.

In hindsight, insane to remember all the Laine supporters here claim that he was better than Matthews.

If only - they hadn't mucked around with the lottery in '20, we would have gotten Lafreniere.

If only - some things had been different then other things would have been different.

Malkin with a pretty nasty crosscheck to the face of Mark Borowiecki today that knocked him out of the game. Got a 4 minute minor for it, but the panel on TNT all thought it would be suspension worthy. Crosby nets point #1400 with OT GWG. 9 points back of Ducky.

Watching Nashville play, I still can't believe they finished ahead of us in the standings. I don't think anyone would have predicted that at the start of the season.

Def didn't see Matt Duchene flirting with 40gs and ppg. Josi also is incredible. Could get 100 pts.

Josi has always been unreal. Duchene’s season is pretty crazy. He has been terrible since Ottawa and has been a black hole since arriving in Nashville until this season?

Nashville converts chances at a high rate. Look at his, Forsberg, Jeannot and Johansens sh%. I haven't watched their games enough to say why though.

Yea its Johansen has been dogshit for the past two seasons as well. All of a sudden they are getting production from some players I wrote off.

Edit there we go, Johansen is shooting 20% this year and his lifetime average is 10%. Matt Duchene shooting 19.9% lifetime average of 13%. Jeannot 20.7%

How the hell are 3 guys all shooting 20% this deep into the season??

Forsberg too. Not sure if they're getting higher quality change or what. Other than Forsberg, their goals above xGF aren't crazy outlandish from what I remember seeing.

Ie:
Duchene is +8.4
Jeannot is +7.3
Johansen is +6.9
Forsberg is +17.1

From money puck all situations.

Forsberg I'd expect a high variance bc of his offense talent.

Not sure if change in offensive play style generating higher quality looks or strong play making, or somehow uber lucky across 70gp with shooting luck/bad goalies. Don't watch NSH enough to have a qualified opinion.

Nathan Smith debuting tonight with Arizona. The storm will be starting so I might as well watch and decide how salty I want to be on how that whole process worked out. I'm kind of mid level salty right now, but still hope he does .. okay.

Looks like Stone is getting activated for Vegas, shocking that magically he is healthy now that they have been able to put another 4 players on LTIR to make room for him. This isn't even subtle any longer, it's blatant cap circumvention and the league looks absolutely silly that this can be going on.

I don't. Don't want to sign in Winnipeg, eh? Fine, I hope you get hit with the Haboob of the Century, and your maid has left your windows open.

So they all got paper cuts on the same day?

According to one source it's an NHL record to have 7 players on LTIR at the same time.

And all the reports are specifically saying it's being done to get Stone back in the lineup... you are right... they aren't even trying to hide it. They are telling the whole world why they are doing this and are daring the NHL to stop it, but of course they won't. Not until a team north of the Mason-Dixon line does it.

I imagine Gary's phone was ringing non stop with calls from angry GM's.

NHL wont do a thing about it they want and need the Knights in the playoffs doesn't really move the ratings needle but the building is full and the show plays well on highlight packages. Their playoffs roster will be over 90 million if they get all the players they want on the ice back.

Too bad Smith didn't want to play wing for the Jets. It's one game but he's actually showing more physical play then I thought he would have at the NHL level. I shouldn't be surprised Minnesota State is a grind you down type structure, but I am nonetheless.

Honestly I have never seen this level of shooting % for so many guys on one team this deep into the season. It’s crazy!

Vegas and their stacked lineup tied it up late but lost in ot, they have 8 games left and are up against it with the Stars and Preds playing well and winning.
