Nah, they're 3 back of the Kings for 3rd in the Pacific and have 2 games in hand on LA. LA is also not doing so hot lately, though I'd say Vegas has the tougher schedule (@ CGY, EDM, DAL, CHI and STL, home to NJD, WSH, SJS). LA has the Ducks twice, the Kraken, Columbus, and a probably out of it Vancouver, not to mention the brutal Blackhawks.

They just have to match LA and win their 2 games in hand.

The NHL schedule makers really screwed up this year ... I know covid was a factor but still.
The last month of the season should mostly have divisional & conference games ... NO interconference games. Its impossible for any teams to make ground.
Seriously the Jets end the season with playing their last 29 games where they played only 7 divisional games and no games against the Wild or Preds. Their record in those 7 games so far is 3-0-2 with 2 games to play.

Sad to hear of Mike Bossy's passing. As a kid waiting in the depths of the old arena for autographs, he never disappointed and always signed. As a player, what can you say. 50 goals in 9 stratight seasons. What a talent.

I was pretty lucky to have seen him play live down at the old barn.

Dallas isn't who this should be directed at.

Nashville's been playing at .500 since Christmas is tied with Dallas in pts and games played.
LA has 10 pts in their last 11 and are now 1 point up on Vegas, and Vegas has a game in hand.

The Winter of our Discontent continues. Sad news indeed. Rest In Peace to an amazing hockey player. One can only imagine, much like Bobby Orr what Bossy's final stat line would have looked like had his career not been cur short.

Yeh i think Makar had 4 points last night. Made up some ground on Josi. From what people are saying if they’re close in points it should go to Makar as he may be having a better season defensively.

Yes, I don't see enough of each player, other than the highlights and when they play the Jets, to have an informed opinion on either's defensive play, but from what little I have read, Makar is the better defensive player.
How much better? I have no idea. Enough to make up the small difference in points...i think it's 5 points right now.

Offensively and transition they're neck and neck. But makar rates better defensively.

Goal scorers all tend to be streaky. Laine is no different. The good thing is that he is still picking up assists. So he is contributing. He is still over the ppg mark on the season.

Yes, but I just find his slumps to be more pronounced than other goal scorers. anyways it will be interesting to see what Columbus does with him in the off-season.

I don’t mind if they make it because it gives me a very clear heel to cheer against. The only painful part would be if they won it all.

You might be right that his slumps are more pronounced, but then so are his hot streaks.

I think L.A stumbles in. The Clippers just got knocked out of the NBA playins so to have no teams out of 4 in the greater L.A market miss the big league playoffs is bad for business. Kings have the easiest schedule to finish. 6 non playoff teams, Dallas to me could tank to get Vegas in. Vegas-Colorado is a good matchup for U.S TV. Following the NBA, it will be strange that #1 seeds in the East in both leagues are in Miami, and there is a good chance both leagues have a New York-Boston first round matchup.
