I expect Boston passed on Connor because they saw him for what he was and turned out to be: a one dimensional player that won't/can't defend. And last time I checked... Boston solidly in playoff spot, Jets not so much.
How wrong is this post.

I'd say Connor has improved to be an average defender and pretty good pker.

Pair that with elite offensive skill and you have a hell of a player. He's our best forward.

Boston borked it

I kind of secretly hope he (Laine) goes to FA and decides he wants to come home for a very team friendly short term deal...of course with a much more contrite attitude while keeping his swagger.

I liked Laine , loved his shot but we absolutely needed a young power center way more than a winger. Dubois is going to be our #1 center very soon and those are very valuable. Plus if we get into the playoffs , his game is exactly suited for playoff hockey. Oh and i think Laine will be asking for too much money next season . I did like Laine as a Winnipeg Jet though and he scored alot of goals here.

Habs will be selling off players big time at the deadline and they wont be contending for a playoff spot for years, well at least they have last years memories and how their fans made jackasses of themselves.

I wouldn't worry about Habs fans. They'll find new ways of making jackasses of themselves while the team rebuilds

And leading the selloff will be none other than "Ram Tough" Ben Chiarot. I'm actually happy for Ben--somehow that improbable SC run last year grossly inflated his value and will likely give him a juicy last contract, despite his league leading (in a bad way) plus-minus and 9 points.

In case you are wondering about our other gifts to the Habs, Armia just scored his second goal and seventh point of the season.

And Sami Niku just scored his first point of the season...with the Laval Rocket!

Of the 3, Armia is the biggest head-scratcher and disappointment, considering his god-given gifts.

Don't forget about perpetually injured Matty P who scored a hat trick leading to some of their posters coming bye and asking if we had anymore "scraps" to give them
